I recently dined at Delfini restaurant in Finiki, Karpathos, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. The portions were surprisingly small, especially considering the prices, which made me feel that there was no value for money.
The food itself was disappointing. The fried potatoes arrived last, after 30 minutes, and were soggy with oil. The calamari, while decently cooked, came in a tiny portion and was also overly oily. The pickled octopus, which I was looking forward to, was served in an even smaller portion.
The shrimp saganaki was the only decent dish, but even here, there was an issue. The waiter told us there would be 5-6 shrimp, but only four arrived, leaving us feeling short-changed.
Overall, the service was slow, and the portion sizes did not reflect the prices at all. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for good value and...

I find it to be also expensive, for the amount of food you get (see picture - we had not started eating yet). Compared to To Perasma in Karpathos, this was 4 times the price... Finiki being a smaller city and a port, one expects otherwise.
This restaurant was proposed to us by a car rental company in...
Read moreThe food quality-especially the lobster-was good, but the portion size and billing structure were confusing. Breaking it down: Dish Expectation vs. Reality: When a menu lists "Lobster Spaghetti" as a single dish (especially a special), it's reasonable to assume the price covers both components. Itemizing them separately without clear upfront communication feels misleading. Charging extra for the spaghetti (€10 on top of the lobster) makes it seem like the lobster was the "main" and the pasta was an add-on, which contradicts the dish's description. Portion Issue: If the spaghetti portion was small and it was an extra charge, that's a double disappointment. For a premium dish, you'd expect generosity or at least...
