Ortomedom Restaurant, located in the charming village of Zia on the Greek island of Kos, offers a dining experience that beautifully blends traditional Greek flavors with a modern twist. Perched on a hillside, the restaurant boasts breathtaking panoramic views of the island, especially at sunset. The scenery alone makes this spot worth a visit, but the food and ambiance elevate it even further.

The menu at Ortomedom features a wide array of Greek dishes, each prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. From classic Greek salads bursting with ripe tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, and creamy feta, to well-seasoned meats and seafood, each dish is a testament to the richness of Greek cuisine. A standout on the menu is the slow-cooked lamb, tender and full of flavor, served with perfectly roasted vegetables and fragrant herbs. The moussaka is another highlight, with its rich layers of eggplant, minced meat, and béchamel sauce. For those seeking vegetarian options, the stuffed vine leaves and grilled vegetables are excellent choices.

The ambiance of Ortomedom is warm and inviting, with rustic décor that captures the essence of the surrounding village. The restaurant is spacious yet cozy, with a mix of indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor terrace is particularly popular, offering stunning views of the sunset over the Aegean Sea while you dine. The staff are attentive and welcoming, eager to share their knowledge of the dishes and recommend local wines that pair perfectly with the meal.

One of the special touches at Ortomedom is their attention to detail in presentation. Each dish is artfully arranged, adding a touch of elegance to the hearty and rustic flavors. The dessert menu is also worth exploring, with options like baklava and Greek yogurt with honey and walnuts providing the perfect sweet ending to your meal.

Overall, Ortomedom Restaurant in Zia is more than just a place to eat—it’s a complete dining experience. Whether you’re savoring traditional Greek dishes, soaking in the incredible views, or enjoying the warm hospitality, this restaurant offers a memorable taste of Greek culture. It’s a must-visit if you find yourself in Kos, especially if you want to combine great food with one of the best sunset views...

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Oromedon in Zia, and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable meals of my trip to Kos.

From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the stunning setting—perched high up in the village, with breathtaking views stretching over the island and out to the sea. If you’re lucky enough to be there at sunset, it’s simply magical.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with charming terraces draped in bougainvillea and a rustic feel that immediately made us feel at home. The staff were so friendly and attentive, happy to explain the menu and recommend local specialties. You can really sense the pride they take in serving traditional food made with care.

As for the food—wow. We started with fresh bread, local cheese, and one of their traditional pies, which was flaky, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. For mains, I tried the slow-cooked lamb, and it was perfection—tender, juicy, and full of herbs. My companion had cracked wheat with pork and chickpeas, a dish I’d never tried before, and it was hearty, comforting, and bursting with authentic flavor. Everything tasted like it had been passed down through generations.

We couldn’t resist dessert and finished with baklava and a local sweet drizzled in honey, paired with a glass of wine. It was the perfect ending to a truly special evening.

The only thing to note is that this place is very popular, especially around sunset, so I’d definitely recommend booking a table in advance if you want the best view.

Overall, Oromedon isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. The food, the service, the atmosphere, and the views all came together to create a night we’ll never forget. I can’t recommend it highly enough. If you’re visiting Kos, make sure to put Oromedon at the top of your list—you won’t regret it! 🌅🍷🇬🇷 Mr...

I have to leave a 5 star review for this place!! Me and my boyfriend took a trip up to Zia village on Friday the 22nd July, we were silly not to book anywhere for dinner as everywhere was super busy and by chance we popped in here and asked if they happened to have some space left, It was like fate brought us here as I honestly think we had the best seats in the house! They sat us next to the bar looking straight out over the beautiful island and directly at the sunset. The view was UNREAL. We could not believe how beautiful this place was!

We were truly looked after by the wonderful staff, one gentleman in particular really impressed us but didn’t manage to get his name!! He helped us choose a wine and took us down to their wine cellar. He even offered to take our photo as the sun was going down without us having to ask and they also gave us a complimentary ice cream at the end of our meal which we thought was really kind.

The food was amazing & beautifully presented, I had roasted lamb which was to die for and my boyfriend had the buffalo, which he thoroughly enjoyed!

I think our bill came to around 70-80 euros including the bottle of wine!! Amazing considering where the restaurant is and the whole experience, it was definitely money well spent.

All in all Thankyou so so much for this beautiful experience, it was truly the highlight of our holiday and we hope to come...

Great restaurant, great location, great staff, and delicious food. We made a reservation a few days in advance for 5:30 PM. When making the reservation, you can specify where you want to sit. When we inquired, it was clear that we could take our time to watch the sunset. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful in making our choices (we wanted two appetizers and a main course. However, the main course was so large that the waiter suggested we only order one appetizer. He wasn't lying about the main course...). We sat upstairs on the terrace next to the balustrade, which gave us a perfect view before and after sunset. The food was delivered incredibly quickly. It was everything food should be: hot, flavorful, and plentiful. The only improvement would be to give guests a longer break between the appetizer and the main course. The appetizer had just finished before the main course arrived. You can prevent this by ordering only your appetizer first and then ordering your main course. We found the price exceptionally reasonable, especially considering the prime location. Highly recommended!

Amazing experience and also lovely portrait how greek hospitality and family connections work. We visited restaurant Broadway in Kos town, another great place, and just in the conversation with owner mentioned we plan to go to Zia and Oromedon. Around sunset time reservation is really helpful... He did it for us and two days later they knew already about us, gave us probably best table for sunset view and rest was just a pure joy of gourmet experience... Lamb is so soft and tasteful thats almost impossible! Traditionals like wine leaves or meatballs and tzatziki as well... This is how they cook in proper greek home said to us later girl from reception in our hotel.. Food was just delicious, so is the view and atmosphere. Service was amazing and as I observed tables around... stuff was really cool and proper in general... Only point is its touristic place so if you prefer calmer atmosphere go there in other than sunset time... But go. This is place to be and eat!
