While exploring Lavrio, we discovered a gem of a restaurant that caught our attention with a picture of souvlaki on a standing skewer. We decided to give it a try, and we’re so glad we did!
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Mino, the owner. Though he didn’t speak English and we didn’t speak Greek, our exchange of smiles and simple pleasantries set a friendly tone. Mino quickly brought us water on a warm day, and soon after, we enjoyed some delicious appetizers and drinks.
The highlight of our meal was the souvlaki—both the pork and chicken were simply outstanding, not to be outdone by the amazing Greek salad and Tzatziki! In fact, collectively, as a family, we agreed this was the best dinner we’ve had in Greece during our three-week visit. As a delightful surprise, Mino treated us to a complimentary cheesecake, which was absolutely delicious.
Our experience was truly wonderful, and I’d love to return. Next time, I plan to learn a bit of Greek to connect with Mino even more. He seems like a fascinating and knowledgeable person. Thank you, Mino, for a memorable dining experience!

Read moreFood was good but the general impression was horrible as I got hit in the head with a wooden plank that fell off from the roof. The outcome could have been much worse if I hadn’t covered my head in the last moment with my hand. The waitress who came few minutes later seeing the plank of the table only asked “ how long has it been here” and didn’t see a problem. I went to the man who seemed to be in charge of the restaurant with a complaint and described the situation. He went with me to the table and other customers who saw this incident explained to him what happened in Greek. He went to the kitchen and sent the waitress who came before to ask me what was the problem after all and played fool that the man didn’t understand English at all. Apparently they didn’t want to take responsibility for anything. Well to sum up I don’t know if the food is worth risking injury so think twice...
Read moreIt would have been great had the server paid as much attention to us as they did to their phone.
Highly disappointed with the service at this restaurant. We were a group of nine people. After ordering our food we had to wait 1.5 to 2 hours until the plates were served! The craziest part? We ordered several appetizers to share instead of mains. We have never had to wait over an hour to be served tzatziki. Now imagine waiting for mains.
We also had to remind the waiter four times that we would like more water. I am not sure if they had to get it from a mountain spring first or why if took so long to serve another water bottle to our table.
The taste of most dishes was ok. None were exceptional but some were the opposite. The grilled mushrooms tasted fishy, the grilled vegetables were partially burned (but cold) and the seafood was not...
