Beautiful restaurant, but that’s all. It is the cheaper of all the restaurants on that beach but you get what you pay for. Unfortunately, the food was pretty bad and the service wasn’t the greatest. I work in the service industry and I hate being THAT person. It takes a lot for me to complain the way I did. 2 seems to be the magic number there because that’s how many times you have to ask for something. For starters, We had to ask for water 2x. It was 3 of us. My friend ordered the Shrimp Pasta, it lacked flavor and was greasy. My Brother ordered the grilled chicken, that too came out greasy and no flavor. We asked for ketchup 2x. It came out after he ate his food. I ordered the fillet fish. My whole plate was room temperature. I don’t know what kind of fish it was, so I am not sure if that’s what it’s supposed to look like that cooked, but being that it didn’t come out warm at all, it looked like it was still raw. It was pinkish in the middle. I eat sushi, so I just tried really hard to get past it. When we originally ordered the food, I had asked for some tomatoes to eat with it, like a small side dish. The server told me he will ask the kitchen if it’s possible. Granted he’s doing his job, however, they have tomatoes on almost every other dish on the menu, this shouldn't have been an issue. Well.. all the food came out and not the tomatoes. I had to ask 2x for them. They finally came out in a exaggerated amount. I had also ordered French fries and they brought me the fries from the appetizer menu that had feta cheese and tomatoes on top. Granted, this isn’t that big of a deal but I just wanted plain fries. At this point we are all over the experience. None of us even touched it. I asked for the bill, the waiter was confused as to why we wanted to leave when we barely ate the food. I explained everything to him and he apologized. I get it, he tried but also, it’s a no for me. Everything was just bad. Note: I took these pictures when we were leaving the table. The almost empty plate with the few fries, that grease is from the grilled chicken. The tomatoes plate, I had already eaten quite a few from it, that’s just how full...
Read moreIn case you’re lucky enough to stay at or pay a visit to the cosy Super Paradise Beach on Mykonos, nestled in a secluded bay, do yourself a favour and have lunch or dinner at the easy-going Thalas barefoot tavern.
If you’re entering the restaurant from the street, you won’t expect what awaits you around the final corner, when your feet are already sinking into the warm sand: a patio-style entrance in typical Myconian design opens up into an authentic Greek tavern – airy, inviting, with rustic yet harmonious interiors, and a stunning view of the sea.
Your first thought might be: “Oh my god – this feels like home.” And you’d be absolutely right.
The super friendly staff welcomes you with warmth, guiding you to one of the beautiful tables and presenting the “catch of the day” – a true highlight for pescetarians, and as fresh as it gets.
The menu is rich and varied without being overwhelming: a great selection of starters, crisp salads, comforting “granny-style dishes” like the slow-cooked lamb with potatoes (incredibly tender!), freshly grilled fish (of course 😉), and delicious desserts including homemade ice cream.
Every single dish we tried was freshly prepared. The pita bread came slightly roasted, sprinkled with spices and olive oil, the tzatziki was one of the best I’ve ever had, and the salads were perfectly seasoned. The wine? Served at the perfect temperature.
The glowing reviews you’ll find online about Thalas? 100% trustworthy. We loved it so much, we went three times in a row during our stay at the Flow 😅.
For us, it was the perfect combo: superb service, warm atmosphere, authentic Greek cuisine, and excellent wines.
Ευχαριστώ- thank you so much, to the whole team @Thalas for making our pre-season stay...
Read moreMe and my boyfriend have been at Super Paradise beach and then had lunch in Thalas Mykonos on 06th July 2023. Unfortunately we had a very bad experience with food, to be more specific, with one dishes in particular: the Eggplant Spread. We are sure of it because is the only thing that we took in common. I needed to specify the day in which we visited the place because maybe someone else had the same experience, i really do hope not for them 😓 Our last day in the island has been completely ruined for this bad inconvenience, right from the same afternoon we were forced to stay in our room like zombies, with all the symptoms that is better not to specify here. … It is now clear we had a strong food intoxication! I was uncertain whether to write this review or not, but then I realized that could be helpful for someone else, I felt forced to write something because it is UNACCEPTABLE, for a place like Thalas Mykonos, to fail in such an inconvenience. Ok, we were unlucky with the eggplants, but a simple taverna could fail so badly in quality, NOT Thalas Mykonos with all its expensive dishes!! We agreed with all the reviews stating that the place is wonderful, well decorated, the waiters are incredibly nice and efficient … but … at what price? Customers health is much more more important and this place from now will be a big NO 👎 We’ll leave the Island having this very bad experience in mind, our lawyer will take over it, luckily is in contact with some locals and will continue the investigation.
Lastly … i am still wondering why others reviewers found this place cheaper than others … were...
