I've visited nearly every part of Greece and I can confidently say this is my favorite place to eat in the whole country. This year, I stayed in Nafplio for nine days, and I ended up eating here for seven days in a row after discovering it. Needless to say I liked it a lot. They seriously have some of the best food I've ever had. Their meat dishes are the highlight here, but should you visit, try everything you can because it's all good. The environment and service were top notch as well. Aside from the food and atmosphere, the other aspect of this place that kept me coming back was the people who worked the restaurant. They were extremely hospitable and kind to me, and they were a delight to be around. They are very good and fun people, just make sure you brush up on your Greek. You can get by with English and a translator app, but you'll have more fun if you know Greek.
If you want amazing food, great atmosphere, and if you want to be around good and fun people, go here. I can't...
Read moreA 5-star meal in Nafplio! Take a break from the Old City and check out Stablos for dinner! We were immediately greeted and seated. The staff (owner?) was very welcoming and gave us some info about the menu and some suggestions. We got the Stablos salad which was delicious. For appetizers, we got the goat cheese spread, the Stablos village sausage which was huge and delicious. For our entrees, we got the lamb chops and the special of the day - a pork souvlaki which was the most succulent, tender, juicy pork. Seriously was one of the best pork dishes I’ve had.
We chose to go here because it seemed authentic and we didn’t want to end up in a tourist trap downtown. I’m so glad we did. Everything from the food to the service to the owner’s hospitality was top-notch! Thank you for an amazing...
Read moreThis was my second visit to Stavlos - first time I visited in April 2025 and the experience was mediocre so I thought to give it another chance with friends who were visiting from the UK (3 adults and two kids in total). Unfortunately, this second time was even worse than the first... The tavern is meant to have a good name for ewe (provatina) chops and we decided to order those. Sadly, the chops were not trimmed, they were extremely fatty and boney with very little meat on them... The real issue was that when we told the staff we were met with a rather dismissive attitude...Huge disappointment as the tavern has the potential to become a must-visit for the town of Nafplio. Sadly I will not be visiting again nor I will be recommending to friends and family who visit Nafplio on a...
