Had some of the best food and service in a long time. We were just driving around near Naxos. Passed through Filoti and decided to come back and just parked the car next to the main area. All the restaurants are right there- almost 10 of them. Pretty nice area to walk around also. Looked at the menus of almost all including reviews on Google Maps.
This one stood out- only one which had a vegan and vegetarian pita roll.
We did sit at another restaurant earlier but immediately moved here.
Couldn't have made a better choice.
First the service: Georgia. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Polite, knowledgeable and most importantly made every dish sound super delicious- she liked everything on the menu!
We had 2 pork pitas, 1 vegetarian pita and 1 bouyiourdi (don't think I have the spelling correct). It was a choice between bayudi or briam (both vegetarian) and as per Georgia both were great. Eventually we chose the former.
We also had some dessert- sweet spoon. Again great.
The place is on a corner as the name says, quaint with the tables having old style check table cloths.
Loved the place.
Highly...
Read moreSuper surprising “warm” welcome by a rude female owner / co-owner who was quite a large lady. She grumbles and curses you out in Greek (also scolded me in English) for showing interest in the menu and asking questions about what they have. Just bad vibes. Why scold a customer unprovoked, and get frustrated at their own lack of knowledge of their menu... and then try to damage control by writing another angry response online? Much simpler to just be pleasant in person....no? Bizarre behaviour. Literally everywhere else people are super friendly and does their job in a perfectly civilised way. This was the only unfriendly place I came across. And it seems the unfriendliness continues.
Edit: Thank you for writing a response that demonstrates my point. If people are this angry, defensive and unapologetic....... you can only imagine how they...
Read moreThe absolute BEST place we have been in Naxos. Everything we ate was delicious (we took a Cretan salad with the local cheese, stuffed vegetables, kalamakias chicken and porc and the moussaka — special mention for the moussaka, one of the best I ate since I moved in Greece 4 years ago !!!). Quantities are big. We also drank and still spent very little per person. Amazing price/quality ratio.
Now imagine if I tell you the service is as good as the food ? It’s a family owned taverna & all of them are sympathetic and very helpful. In one word : the Greek filoxenia incarnated !
We went there again for breakfast and couldn’t recommend more the omelet with the traditional cheese. My friend had the yogurt with fruits and it was also great.
Thank you very much !! Any time I will be back in Naxos I will be coming again to...
