Argonautes — Restaurant in Municipality of Nea Propontida

I wouldn't have anything to complain about the food if it weren't for: Strange service and payment methods. We wanted to order several fish dishes, but most of the fish on the menu wasn't available, similarly, they didn't have a choice of wine. The fish was meant to be grilled, but it was fried. The souvlaki was fine. The tzatziki and Greek salad were also tasty, and the frites were fine too, but they were servired long before the meal, so they had gone cold. We didn't get the second fish we ordered at all. Even though the tavern was almost empty, they brought us three different shaped wine glasses. They probably didn't find the same ones. The payment process was also very strange. First, I had to insert my card without seeing the bill, and I couldn't even see the display. I had to take a good look to see what they were charging us. It was more than €70, but I should have paid around €55. It seemed more than what we had consumed. Only after paying was the bill printed, and I later discovered that it included fish that we hadn't even been served. This method of billing makes it very difficult to tip when I can't see the bill. I will be straight. Sunday August 18th 2019. Beautiful place next to the potidaia canal. Not crowded at all, it get crowdy later on. Two portions of fresh Greek kalamari ( squid ), one portion roasted octopus ( fresh and tasty ), a portion of muscles on the steam ( really tasty ). And two portions of french fries ( good ),one greek salad ( tomato, onion, green pepper, cucumber, feta cheese...not good at all, it was already prepared and exposed to environment), a portion of fried pumpkin with tzatziki ( fresh and really tasty), a portion of tzatziki ( fresh and tasty) ,and half loaf of bread. The drinkin : two cokes, two orange beverages, three tsipouro drinks ( a " heavy " variation of Greek ouzo ). A total price for 75 euros. Personally I find it , not great not terrible, as they say in Chernobyl series :), but it's up to you to conclude and decide. Keep in mind that it's a beautiful place, on a small quite harbour, with a traditional fisherman's tone, next to the potidaia channel. PS.. the service was good. Avoid at all costs. Poor hygiene. First impressions were great and food tasty. Service a little slow, possibly due to lack of staff. The place is full of cats ( and I love them), that mingle with guests, walking between tables. I counted at least 20. What put me off 3/4 through our dinner, was when I saw one cat jump on a table where people where still eating and walking amongst plates/ trying to take food. None of the waiting staff took notice and it was the guests who had to shoo it off the table. We were so put off unlikely to visit ever again and we holiday...
