Unfortunately a disappointing experience – not recommended

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but in this case I feel the need to warn others. Although the restaurant was nearly empty, we had to wait almost 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order.

Bread and water were brought to the table without any explanation – and both were later added to the bill. That wouldn’t be an issue if guests were informed in advance.

This was our first time at this restaurant, but our third year in a row visiting this town – so we’re familiar with many of the other restaurants here. We’ve never had an experience like this before: in other places, bread and water are either complimentary or it’s clearly communicated if there’s a charge.

Unfortunately, the tableware wasn’t clean – the glasses and cutlery looked used and unappetizing. The fried feta lacked seasoning and seemed carelessly prepared. The lamb dish consisted mostly of bones and wasn’t tasty at all.

Card payment had to be made at a dirty counter in the back – not exactly a professional setup. When we pointed out the unexpected charges, the owner simply said that this is “normal here” and that he knows the other restaurant owners in town – not a helpful response.

Very dissapointing experience. We were a group of 8 people and once we took a seat, they brought 2 bottles of water and 2 plates with bread. After we ate, for some reason they added 12 euros for 12 slices of bread on the receipt and they explained it that men pay 2 euros for bread per person and girls 1 euro per person which made absolutely no sense!!! One plate of bread, meaning 6 slices we didn't touch at all and they still made us pay. It makes no sense. The next thing that really pissed us off is that they brought appetizers after the main courses, which was supposed to be opposite. Comparing to other restaurants, the portions where smaller and a bit more expensive. We ordered lemonade but instead of freshly made, they just brought carbonated lemon juice. I belive this is a family owned restaurant and if it is, this family is a mess. We were 6 people for lunch and since we've stepped in, a young boy totaly not interested in having more guests said go and sit on this table which was not cleaned from the previous guests. We waited for some time and they've cleaned it. Than we waited for additional 25 mins to bring us the menus and to take the order. A young lady was taking the order with 0 interest shown like her blood pressure was super low. She forgot to bring us 2 items that we've ordered but they didn't forget to put these 2 items on the bill. We were asked first to pay the bill then the bill was brought to us. Then the refund for these 2 items were given to us. Prices in this taverna compared to other neighbouring villages are higher for no reason. If the customer service in April is like this I don't want to imagine how it'll be in top season in July/August....
