Avoid !
The food is terrible, definitely not worth the price, even for the cheapest choice.
Asked for pita bread and got some rerereheated pita, worst than chewing gum.
Asked for a regular coke and a small bottle of sparkling water and got a diet coke and a big bottle of still water (and of course didn’t get the time to tell the waiter he had gotten it wrong because he opened both bottles right away).
Side detail : found a big dead COCKROACH in the bathroom, very welcoming.
Wasn’t allowed to pay by card (15€) so I had to pay with cash and I didn’t get the right change.
I thought it was a mistake so I came came back to ask for my right change, it wasn’t a mistake.
The waiter simply didn’t have anymore small change to give me the right amount, and maybe thought I wouldn’t notice?
The place is pretty, but don’t come for the food…which is a shame, I mean for...
Read moreService was ok, food was bland and tasteless. I had Calamari to start and my wife had oven feta. Calamari was ok, just three pieces. The oven feta had cheddar cheese melted on the top, which is bizarre and made the dish worse. We both had the Lamb Kleftico, advertised as "the best". The lamb was mostly bones and even after adding salt twice it still had no taste. This also had cheddar cheese melted on the top, which did nothing for the meal at all. Portions were very small. We asked for the bill which came with a cash only comment from the waiter. Overall not a great experience and definitely won't be going back. Easily the worst place I've...
Read moreI went to this taverna twice. I only go twice to a taverna in Greece if the food and atmosphere is excellent. The first main course I chose was the αρνί κλέφτικο (lamb kleftiko). It was so good, I ordered the same the second time (and I do not usually do this). Greek cuisine is all about simplicity and perfection of flavours and texture and this dish hit the mark completely. You might get a bit more meat in a pot from another taverna, but at Dolphin, it is cooked on the bone, so the dish generates its own stock broth as it cooks. Trust me, you will me pressing pieces of soft potato into the juices at the bottom of the pot to get every drop! I also had Σπετσοφάι (spetsofai) which was every bit as delicious and (of course) μπακλαβάς (baklavas) which was rich and sweet and delicious. The staff were lovely and the setting is very romantic.
