Skondros Taverna — Restaurant in Municipality of Northern Corfu

My friend and I were sitting on the chairs at the front of the taverna when suddenly a man who worked there came and screamed at us that they "were finished". We apologized and went to get off our chairs when he accused us of being rude even though we were getting up and moving nicely. We then went to sit down on the sand next to the chairs and he yelled at us to move further down the beach before he "would start to get really rude" and gestured us to move away as far as possible. Highly recommended place for relaxation, clean water sea, proper food and kind staff...for those who expect laying on a sunbed all day long drinking only a coffee and bringing their food from a supermarket or a pita place, is not recommended..the owner of the taverna, Mr. Yanis, has a family to feed, expenses to pay and taxes to the greek government..nothing is free nowadays..Respect to the hard workers who are trying to serve us ,under these extreme weather...

This was the first restaurant we came to after walking down the road to the beach. The tables at the front were reserved which I guess is a good sign.

We were there quite early and it wasn't busy but the service was quick and efficient. I tried the speciality fish which was gyros/meat with a tomato metaxa sauce and Gouda cheese melted in the oven.

2 people in our group were vegetarian and there was enough choice for them on the menu.
