If you're looking for somewhere special then Sea Salt is exactly what you want! I spent half my life living in Corfu and the other half visiting most years, this place is definitely a breath of fresh air compared to a lot of the local restaurants that have had the same menus since forever.
If you're a seafood lover then this place is perfect for you. The cooking on the seafood was excellent, lots of local produce, combine this with the modern flair and twist that I'd expect to see around the capitals of Europe - you've got yourself a winner. All of the dishes were fabulous, even the chips reminded me of the ones my yiayia (Grandmother) used to make me. Toastacoes were delicious, if prawn toast and takoyaki balls had a child then Toastacoes would be born.
A couple of slight criticisms (constructive, of course) is the Paella could've done with a touch more seasoning in the rice. If someone doesn't know what Himalayan black salt is then the smell could put them off their food so I would get rid of it and put normal salt instead.
The food is only as good as the service and the service was spot on - quick, friendly and knowledgable. We had a nice explanation on the history of the local wine which we bought, which was delicious too, by the way. Made to feel very welcome (we ate here twice after a very enjoyable meal the first time).
Don't be put off if the prices seem a bit higher than other restaurants nearby, the extra €5~ per dish is more than worth it, you're getting something fresh and exciting as opposed to the generic food Stavros has been putting out for 20 years.... give it a try!

Read moreHere in Corfu for a chilled week at an all inclusive with my daughter (part of her 18th celebrations and her choice, she is a bit over me dragging her around cities on foot). The food and service at our hotel is very good but wanted something great for her special dinner. She loves seafood (the more faces and tentacles the better) so was drawn to Sea Salt, read the reviews and after a few nights in the hotel ventured out.
It is surrounded by some much larger venues and is easy to miss but being small has a charm the places with the huge illuminated menus can't replicate.
The restaurant is very tastefully decorated in fact everything about the place is tasteful. The service was warm, friendly and prompt even when they got busier later, did make me smile that they had a waiter who had never eaten seafood and couldn't stand the smell of it.
We chose to sit on the little deck overlooking the sea and watching the sun set over the ionian sea is lovely in itself without the jostling you get trying to watch one in Santorini.
The small selection of wines was lovely and well chosen and the food excellent. The smoked fish appetisers were a flavour explosion (smoked fish, chilli, caper, cream cheese and a kumquat relish) the wild greens that came with the calamari were delicious and the mountain of Paella that followed was fantastic.
Two starters, a main for two, one coke and two glasses of wine came to 75 euros which at this quality and this level of service is unbelievable.
Quite incredible that they have only been open for two years.

Read moreOne of Acharavi’s newest restaurants does not disappoint. Situated on the shore with seating on the patio or out on the decking next to the ocean, you have one of the most beautiful views the north coast has to offer. Sea Salt is a seafood restaurant with a menu that changes according to the availability of the catch, and each dish is freshly prepared by a chef with an obvious knowledge and passion for his craft. I would consider the restaurant to be more of a ‘fine dining’ experience which is reflected in the prices (but the price of each dish is only slightly higher than other comparable restaurants in the area). The starters are large enough to share between two, and the main courses are not over-facing in any way - providing quality and amazing taste over quantity. We visited twice during our 2 week stay and we were extremely impressed each time. We particularly enjoyed the mini fish burger and the smoked fish bruschetta starters, and the baked cod and paella main courses. Desserts are limited to a choice of 2 dishes, but each one was sublime. We had the orange cake and the strawberry Mille-feuille. There is a comprehensive cocktail list and the wines have been chosen carefully to complement the food perfectly. This restaurant deserves to be a success. Highly...
