Good meal, RUINED!! these people clearly want to exploit tourists, let me explain. We drove down (and walked) to the restaurant, lovely setting, menu was quite pricey (approx 20 euros for a clearly heated up moussaka) but we decided to go ahead and order. A nice touch was that there was a small bowl of bread, 8 slices, out already (remember that) and it reminded me if decent restaurants back home, the "little touches" as it were. We had mains only plus drinks, a seafood platter, king prawns, moussaka etc... the bill for for 6 of us was just under 300 euros. We checked through and saw they had charged us SIXTEEN EUROS for 8 slices of bread, not a loaf, and more importantly not an option, it was already on the table! I couldn't believe it. The entire loaf would have coast no more than a quid in the UK, a single pound. And here they were charging us about 14 pounds for 8 slices, absolute joke!! I wouldn't waste my time with these con merchants again. If you ever go then ask exactly what you're being charged for before you start eating anything! I complained to the staff who said they didn't set the prices, the manager wasn't available. Its such a shame as the location is great, and the food is nice (not amazing, but pretty good) but they are ruining it with ridiculous prices and borderline extortion for these very dodgy...
Read moreLovely hidden spot with great views and atmosphere. The food is decent, but prices are steep. Watch out for the bread and olives they bring you without asking, it is NOT on the house. Service is very varied. They can be quite friendly and even child-friendly, but only as long as you keep to their rules exactly and not try to have special requests. Then, they can quickly turn into something less than friendly or even tell you to leave. We had a decidedly ugly experience, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it with small children, unless they are the extremely well-behaved non-autonomous type. Children with a will are unwelcome. Also, be advised that - should you be seated by the tables overlooking the pier - it is their strict rule that children may not sit on the outside, they must be seated on chairs by the courtyard/street, for fear of them falling down to the pier. No matter of convincing about us being responsible parents and our kids being rather sane and safe worked. Nobody ever told us in all travels with our children where they can and cannot sit, so that was a surprise. They were not so nice after that and neither were we. Fortunately, there was a single kind waiter willing to defuse the situation. If you come here with children, be advised to let them know in advance they will not be sitting by the view and avoid...
Read moreAvoid at all costs! We spent a week in the local area and ate at all the Tavernas in Agios stefanos, Kalami & Agni, so i can say with experience, avoid Kouloura!!
Where do i start:
All in all, it was our most expensive meal of our holiday, it was the worst food we ate in Corfu and the service was appalling.
Such a shame as it is a...
