Rakogonia — Restaurant in Municipality of Piraeus

After a long walk exploring the area around Piraeus our small group of six, tired from a long walk and hungry and thirsty, stumbled upon this restaurant. It was early afternoon on a Sunday and they looked very quiet but they welcomed us in. We were delighted they did.

The facilities are good and the the tables spacious. The menu is not hugely diverse and probably takes its inspiration from its Cretan origins, reflected in the decor around.

It turned out to be one of the best afternoons we had. The food was good and I could happily go back and have the Vegetable salad (it's a Green salad with a delicious dressing) and a portion of deep fried squid every day.

It is very obviously a local restaurant and as the afternoon progressed more tables filled up and the atmosphere he more lively.

What made it so outstanding was the attentive staff who encouraged us to try new dishes and drinks we have explored before. The desserts and the "fire water" we drank (rakia) ensured we had a long and laughter filled afternoon. A real delight. Thanks for a delightful afternoon.

Very nice place in Mikrolimano area, a bit hidden off the main road. The honey-raki was really good, and the service fast and friendly. There is a variety of small plates in the menu, with options for everyone’s taste. While the portions were generally generous, the tzatziki at 4.5€ was poor, more like a tablespoon of tzatziki spread in the plate. The cheese balls as well as the pork steaks with honey and mustard were the highlight. Handcut fries with oregano highly appreciated. Dessert is served at the end...

Πήγαμε επιτέλους σε ένα ρακομελαδικο εδώ κοντά στη γειτονιά μας που το λεγαμε αρκετό καιρό! Είχε προηγηθεί τηλεφωνική κράτηση για βραδάκι. Το προσωπικό μας υποδέχτηκε με χαμόγελο και ευγένεια. Καθίσαμε στον εσωτερικό χώρο. Υπάρχει και εξωτερικός χώρος. Το μαγαζί μετά τις 22:00 ήταν γεμάτο, οπότε σας προτείνω να κάνετε μια κράτηση πριν πάτε. Διάφοροι μεζέδες ακόμα και για τους πιο απαιτητικούς, μεγάλη ποικιλία από αλκοόλ (κρασί, μπύρα, τσίπουρο, ρακή, μαρουβας,ούζο) και πολύ ωραία μουσική από έντεχνα μέχρι λαϊκά. Το φαγητό ήταν νόστιμο, πήραμε μεζεδάκια στην μέση. Θα ξανά πάμε γιατί το μενού είχε πολλά πιάτα ώστε να τα δοκιμάσουμε όλα. Οι τιμές νορμάλ,όπως όλα τα ρακόμελαδικα, ούτε πολύ φθηνό αλλά ούτε κ πολύ ακριβό. Εμείς δύο άτομα, δώσαμε περίπου 22€ το άτομο, αλλά πήραμε αρκετά μεζεδάκια (μπριζολακια, φλογέρες με τυρί, πατάτες τηγανητές με μπεικον, κεφτεδάκια κτλ), 1 λίτρο κρασί και ένα τεταρτακι μαρουβα. Στο τέλος, μας κέρασαν γλυκό κορμό σοκολάτας. Ένα μεγάλο μπράβο σε όλους τους σερβιτόρους που έτρεχαν μέσα έξω πάνω κάτω για να εξυπηρετήσουν όλο το κόσμο και να έρθουν όλα στην ώρα τους! Εις το...
