Tucked away in a quiet corner of Piraeus, Ψαροκαστέλλα (Psarokastella) is more than just a fish tavern—it’s a celebration of authentic flavors, heartfelt service, and the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like family from the moment you arrive.

Every dish that graced our table told a story—of tradition, freshness, and simplicity done right.

Friendly, attentive, and always with a smile, the staff made us feel genuinely cared for.

Behind every great place are even greater people. The owners and staff of (Kostas, Maria, and their younest son Konstantios) radiate warmth and authenticity. You can see the love they pour into their food, the joy they find in conversation, and the pride they take in making every guest feel welcome. They reminded us that dining is not just about food—it’s...

We stayed in the area for a night and was lucky to find out this gem! Psarokastella was definitely what we have in mind for a local seafood restaurant. Family-owned and run by all family members, the chef brought us surprise to surprise with her cook, their warm welcome and surely the quality of food! I was licking my finger trying the boiled/ steamed shrimps with homemade sauce. That was the best for us and we were hesitating to order another one. We tried also octopus with wine sauce, grilled squid and super fresh fried fishes (too hungry and excited - forgot taking a photo of the fishes). And as usual, dessert was offered (big portion of mousse & mandarin jam). I will sure come back for more! Acceptable price (in comparison to other restaurants in the area). Definitely recommended and will...

Wowww. Look no further, this is the place! Even if it’s out of your way, come here to have the best seafood in all of Greece! This restaurant is family owned and run. Maria, the owner and chef will great you and treat you like family! Her and her husband are the nicest people you’ll meet in Athens. The seafood is fresh and caught daily. Her menu changes daily based on what is fresh that day and your likings. We’Ve had the best Greek salad, the best fish, squid and octopus. Don’t even get me started on her home made dessert that ends the meal magically. Truly lucky to have stumbled on this place. It was such a great culinary experience that we returned a second time! Trust me, this is THE place and we can’t wait to come back. 10 stars....

It's a nice hidden gem in Piraeus that serves seafood as it is a psaro taverna. It's a tiny place in the middle of a residential neighborhood on top of a hill. The 3 is because well in the summer it felt really hot indoors even with the AC on which was on the other end of the tavern with an open door in between us and the ventilated space which made it a bit hot for the dining experience itself. As for food I highly recommend the following 1. Octopus in honey and red wine 2. Fried Calamari For drinks I got the Agia Nera which is a tsipouro goes well with the food. And a great digestif Give it a try I'd you're looking for some good decent sea food options.. thatbare not touristic and are local gems .

I have to say that this is by far the best fish restaurant I went so far in Athen. Exceptional good quality and the dishes are nothing compared to the kindness of the staff: Very friendly and authentic staff. We felt like dining at a friend's house. Down to earth but exquisite!!! I find the location perfect too as you are away from the rush and loudness of the busy street at the harbour and who cares where it is when you can eat like this?! If the food is good you don't need good location. Personally I felt the prices were as honest as they could be; if cheaper I would ask myself if the quality is good.
