We got this place recommended by a taxi driver. I thought that the guy was very kind so I took his advice about this place. I mention thia since I've seen other reviews mentioning the taxi driver to be part of somethings shady happening. The food was good, yet not impressive, moreover considering the price. I ordered a "catch of the day" fish with chickpeas and my partner ordered prawns with some sort of grain, which I don't remember. The prawns were good but the fish was nothing impressive or worth talking about any further. The attention was fine I think, maybe a bit rude. It depends of who was in charge of your table. Some of them can be rude when taking out the dishes. The price as previously mentioned didn't match the product. It is average food at best. I think that they charge you that because of the location and view (depending of the table you get). I'm not sure why they are always so crowded. Never really got the hype about the restaurant. There are far better options even on the touristic parts of Athens with better food

Con Artists in cahoots with the cab drivers. They pay cabbies to drop tourists here and then rip the tourists off by inflating the bill. We didn't get that far as the cab driver himself ripped us off and left us with 0 money left for the restaurant manager Gregory to steal. I've read through all the 1 star reviews of this place and they say the same thing a cabbie recommend the restaurant then they got a bill 3 x what they were expecting. I confronted the business owner about the cab driver's scam and he wouldn't look me in the eye while claiming not to know anything about it. The man is a menace to society DO NOT EAT HERE! Even if you were to have a good meal at a reasonable cost your money would be going to bad people who think nothing of lying cheating and stealing from tourists.

Very poor service - Our last day in Athens and we had planned to go site seeing - we caught a taxi, our driver, Chris, offered to take us around to all the sites and suggested a lovely lunch at his cousin Nikos's restaurant Zorbas and that if we did not enjoy our lunch he wouldn't charge us the fare - rookie blunder, trusting tourists - our table of four ordered two calamari dishes, one prawn and one langoustine to share - the marinated calamari dish was burnt and tasted awful, the rest cold, the service extremely slow as the food took two hours to arrive at the table - when we called for attention we were ignored and finally when we were able to complain, Nikos, the owner, apologised saying his waiter didn't understand English and gave us a bottle of wine on the house but a free bottle of wine was not really necessary as we would have happily paid had the food and service been good. We cut our tour short and went straight back to...

A taxi driver recommend this place and drove us here THEN CONNED US OUT OF 70 EURO. I've since read the other reviews of this restaurant... at least 10 of the may many 1 star reviews confirm that Zorbas is in cahoots with the taxi drivers to con tourists out of their money. ..........After being robbed by the taxi driver and shuffled into the restaurant we paused to think and sipped our water then left to find our way to someplace safe (having lost our trust in all cab drivers and this restaurant manager "Gregory"). SHAME on this con artist Gregory, Antony his henchman and "Georgie" the cab driver that forced us to go here. We will not let these bad men taint our opinion of Athens or the Greek but shame on them and there is a special place in hell for men who conspire to take advantage of...
