During our 8-day stay in Costa Navarino my family and I found ourselves returning to the same restaurant not once, not twice, but four times. The restaurant? Elia. Nestled in the vibrant dining scene of Costa Navarino, Elia stands out for all the right reasons.

Service and Atmosphere:

The service at Elia is nothing short of excellent. From the moment we walked in—without a reservation, mind you—we were met with prompt and attentive service. A standout among the staff was our waiter, Vagelis, who truly made our dining experience memorable. On our second visit, Vagelis not only recognized us but also remembered everything we had ordered during our previous dinner. This level of personal attention and care is a rare find and speaks volumes about the quality of service at Elia. The staff here are not just efficient; they are warm, welcoming, and make you feel right at home. Kudos to Elia for having such a dedicated and personable team.

Food Quality:

The food at Elia is a celebration of freshness and flavor. Each dish is crafted with care, using ingredients that highlight the best of Greek cuisine. What truly sets Elia apart, however, is its commitment to offering high-quality dishes at a price point that won’t break the bank. The price point at Elia is incredibly reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and service. It's no wonder that this place is always packed, drawing in both locals and tourists alike. Unlike many restaurants in the area, Elia accepts walk-ins, which is a huge plus, especially on nights when you haven’t planned ahead.

Overall Experience:

In a destination filled with dining options, Elia remains a standout choice. The fact that we dined here four times during our eight-day stay speaks volumes about our love for this restaurant. It’s the kind of place that draws you back, meal after meal. Whether you're a local or a tourist, Elia is a must-visit. A good spot with a sea view and nice dishes, BUT serious lack of service quality. We went there with our kids and soon after we settled on our table, the waiter threw a glass of wine all over our 2,5 y.o. son who was shocked and started crying. We had to undress him publicly on the spot to change clothes. The glass broke into pieces on our table and thank God nobody got injured (our 4 months baby was just on the side of the table, but luckily enough we had covered the stroller with a mosquito cover). The waiters didn't bother to seriously apologize and they only said a typical "sorry", as if they had made a minor mistake. The floor was not properly groomed and glass pieces were left under our seats. The manager didn't appear either, which was unacceptable and offensive. The least she could do after the incident, was come and check if everything was fine and ask if we needed any help. They even didn't offer us any discount, which is very common in such cases as a sign of apology, and they charged everything. I wonder what their reaction would have been if all this was done to an adult or a senior. The fact that a toddler was harmed should have made them be more apologetic and concerned, not less. We were expecting to have a nice dinner but our night was ruined instead, due to this restaurant's really mediocre -to say the least- service and total absence of basic rules of politeness. I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience attempting to make a reservation at Elia restaurant. I called 10 days in advance to book a table for our group of 20. Given the reputation of the restaurant, I expected a smooth and professional interaction. Unfortunately, that was not the case.

I spoke with the owner directly, hoping to get the reservation sorted out efficiently. However, the owner did not seem very helpful or accommodating. They seemed disinterested in assisting with our request, offering minimal information and lacking the courteousness one would expect in the hospitality industry.

For a restaurant that prides itself on great food and service, this was a major letdown. Our group was looking forward to a nice evening at Elia, but the indifferent attitude we encountered has left us reconsidering our plans.
