We selected this restaurant by reading rewiews, as we always do. Before ordering I was very unhappy about the fact their menu list is small, menu items looked weird and unfamiliar and prices higher than what is usual. Practically speaking, we come here and expected to eat lamb chops and pork panceta, but both of them were not in the menu. Therefor we had to select lamb with herbs (ough, never ever thought that herbs can be a side dish for meat - I only use them for sour soup - ciorba) and mouton fillet as the only acceptable meal. What a surprise when the food come. The mouton with dried tomatos, fresh tomato pieces and other unknown (for me) vegetables was a delice. Perfectly cooked and tasted rich, the meat was completely different than what I eat in the past. A bigger surprise was the lamb slowly cooked. It comes in a parallelipipedic shape looking very different than a regular cooked meat. And the herbs looked so not appealing for me... But when I tried, the taste exploded in my mouth. The lamb was so good that I couldn't beleive it's real, while the herbs have being transformed in a completely different meal. I could still recognize each individual aromas but they melted sinergic together in something completely different, a pinnacle of the green and fresh, enriched with a butter taste. These humble herbs have being transformed into a God's delice. The grand finale was a desert with chocolate and fresh strawberry, caramel sauce and olive oil. And, of course, orange ice cream. Have no more words to describe how good they tasted. Service was also perfect. Polite, professional...

Exceptional Dining Experience in Gialova

The tasteful decoration of the tables in front of the beach moved us to take a look at the menu.

The respectful and extremely friendly and welcoming attitude that Georgos gave us, made us decide on the spot to stay.

The food was simply fantastic, an explosion of finely and earthy mix of flavors: simply delicious, from the amazing homemade Sourdough Bread and its creamy dip together with one the best marinates olives we ever had, to our main courses (Lemony chicken pasta and Orzo with shrimps) served with a very fine local Chardonnay, Lantides). To round it up, a lemon tart with strawberry. Bravo!!!

The food, the ambience and the real friendliness gave us no other choice than to return the next day: and we had a dejà vu of almost paradise: this time with a Carbonara that you can’t find anywhere else (elegant mix of flavors and ingredients) and the slow cooked Lamb with gnocchi that is offered only here.

The portions were luckily enough not huge, so we were able to relax each bite and savor all of what we ordered.

The owner and the rest of the staff were also perfect: attentive, asking if everything was to our satisfaction, without intruding. They all seemed to take a well-deserved pride on having turned dining into an art.

We stayed in Gialova only two nights and we know where we’ll eat next time: their menu is...

Carne restaurant is run by a local family with a desire to provide you with an international culinary experience from as much of the local produce that is available We have been fortunate to dine at Carne on many occasions, and once again, on our recent visit, our appetites were treated to wonderful dishes that need to be experienced to truly understand. For the seafarers, the Sea Bass fillet or the marinated sea bass carpaccio is a must have. For the meatlovers, don't hesitate, order the Cowboy steak. But most importantly, do not discard the special plates of the day. Recommeded by the lovely staf member Chistina, we experienced a locally sourced seaweed and feta cheese salad, a modern twist moussaka, and pulled pork with shoestring fries in a mini taco Friendly staff can be found at all the establishments, but friendly staff that connect with you to make you feel like part of the family, is the Carne way. During the evening, the chef Lefteris, introduced himself to us, and for that moment, he made us part of the family I should also mention, the restaurant is located on the northern side of the picturesque Navarino Bay, with amazing views across to Pylos. This restaurant has an incredibly privileged spot by the coast in Gialova. It exudes thoughtful elegance with wonderful lighting that brings a relaxed luxury vibe. The service was exemplary across the board with special mention to Themis, an Athenian with great knowledge and a sharp wit who was eager to share his enthusiasm for the pleasures of food and wine. Each dish we choose from the menu, tacos, fried cheese parcels, chicken with gnocchi, steak, chocolate, and spiced bun, were best in their class plates obviously made and served with love. The wine list was well curated to showcase the best wines of the area. It's worth noting that there was a slight mishap with our food, because as you can see, it didn't deter from the 5 star tasting due to the impeccable handling by the team. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Very nice experience. As the name suggests, please do not expect vegan options here. It is a restaurant for meat - pork, veal, beef,... It is very nicely located, directly at the water. You can either sit by the water or decide for a table at the rooftop. The architects did a nice job and furniture, umbrellas, lights, etc looks very stylish and pleasing for the eye. We had a Greek salad and pork w/ cheese sausage as a starter followed by meatballs and a beef filet (medium rare). A glass of wine plus a bottle of water and a lemonade - we paid EUR 76,-- in total. Everything was really good and we could not complain. The lady serving us that night was very friendly, polite and forthcoming. So was her colleague who took our order. It is a very nice place with good food and friendly service - definitely worth to visit.
