Whilst the venue was inviting and the scene looked traditional. The cats walking around inside were such a disappointment as they kept jumping up at the seats, grabbing at your legs and anything else to get your attention. Becoming very persistent and demanding this was not the fault of anyone particularly and I love cats! Naturally in a restaurant you wouldn’t throw food on the floor so in Greece one would save up scraps in a napkin after and feed them outside as per! The waiter all be it good had to be kindly asked if he could help us and spur the cat to make a move as it was jumping up in the chair and bringing others to do so near our food, the cat looked rather u healthy with exposed wounds sadly. The food was ok with the traditional flavour of cumin non present in the humous and the homemade chips still rather raw and the fried seafood platter bland and rather basic in flavour as the offering was fresh clearly, the lamb chips were great! Kind place, keep the cats from jumping and taking food from the diners plates whilst they are eating and then this would be a no frills recommendation from me as this was a genuine...
Read moreFantastic meal. Stumbled upon this place after searching for a restaurant I visited many years ago that has now unfortunately closed down (Mimi’s). We were recommended to come here as an alternative by a friendly chap in a souvenir shop and we were not disappointed. The most perfect Greek food and huge portions that we unfortunately couldn’t finish - thought the waiter kindly packed it all up for us, and we ate it when we got home. One of the best meals we’ve had in Greece - we’ll happily eat here again if we’re ever in Afandou. Thoroughly recommended!
Update 2024: We were back in Rhodes and ate here twice again, great family run business, excellent food and service. A lot of locals seem to eat here which I think says a lot about the standard. Recommended a lot of people to come here. Hopefully see you...
Read moreA large group of us dined at this restaurant, having reserved 2 tables in advance - for the adults and for 4 children. The waiter did not allow the children to sit at a table by the window because it was reserved and seated them in a very stuffy place. Later it turned out that the table was not preserved, because he divided it into 2 x 2 and seated a couple on it. Very bad impression. It is very stuffy in the restaurant, even though there is an open terrace. Also, I ordered roasted peppers with cheese, which turned out hot (without warning) and I didn't eat them. They also offered a "Big Fish of the Day" portion, which was about 15 cm and cost 15 euros. Yes, we got dessert and a digestif, but there are much better restaurants in the village with wonderful service and food, so I don't...
