One of the best traditional restaurants I've visited in Rhodes. The place is modest but functionally furnished, reflecting how the family treats its customers and the quality of the food. There’s a lovely garden where you can enjoy the Greek way of life. I won’t list the delicious food and reasonable prices, as they’re mentioned in other reviews. I was particularly impressed by the waitstaff and the owner. He told us amazing stories about Rhodes and we had fun together until midnight, and was ready to continue at a nearby bar, but unfortunately we had to leave Afandou. An exceptional restaurant and terribly nice people, the whole family. Amazing food, with great hospitality. It’s traditional Greek food, with all home cooking - a traditional taverna done incredibly well. It’s family run and welcoming with great advice on the best choices to make. I have no photos of the food because we got stuck in too fast - the aubergine and garlic special was amazing! Apparently the name is because Afandou is twinned with Gummersbach in Germany, not because it’s a German restaurant! I’ve been coming to Greece since I was 5 and this is some of the best food I’ve had. Can’t recommend the baked feta enough, I’ve no idea how they got it to...

At first we weren't sure if we wanted to eat here because in that city there were many places where to eat, but I am so glad that we did eat here! The lady who worked there was super nice! As we saw, she was working as a cook and also as a waitress, but everything was so perfect. She was so kind and the food was also so delicious. The food prices are not high at all. When we were finished, she also offered us a desert and didn't charge anything for that. Her English was so so, but we communicated pretty well. We really recommend this place, and we would definitely eat...
