Zorbas Afandou — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

I recently visited this restaurant with our friends and while we were excited to try the food, we found it to be overly salty. We kindly mentioned this to the chef during our visit, hoping it would be taken as constructive feedback. However, the response we received was quite surprising and disappointing.

What’s even more concerning is that a friend of ours left a review, and the reply from the restaurant was not only unprofessional but also contained inappropriate and racially charged comments. This is not acceptable behavior, especially from a place that should be welcoming to all guests.

I strongly believe that feedback, whether positive or negative, should be handled with respect and professionalism. I hope the management takes this as an opportunity to reflect on their customer service and the importance of treating every guest with dignity.

We had a lovely lunch here three weeks ago. The food was all delicious, and the service was impressive. After our meal, while we were still enjoying drinks at our table in the sun, the chef/owner came over and offered me some dried oregano, which he said had been harvested from his garden and would be perfect for making a Greek salad. The aroma was incredible—so fragrant and unlike any oregano or herbs I'd ever come across in my life. Back in England, I cherish and use his oregano as a treasured ingredient in my kitchen. Absolutely amazing food, I had the T bone steak, my partner had the grilled halloumi, I’m not a tomato eater at all but these are absolutely amazing, the best mojito I’ve ever had, were from the uk and my partner and I have been calling him (yannis) our Greek grandad, honestly this bar has been a home away from home, yannis will do absolutely anything for you to make you feel welcome, we we’re getting harassed by cats when eating outside and he came with a water bottle so my partner would feel more comfortable, 10/10 would recommend this to anyone who’s visiting afandou, thank you yannis...
