Epavlis Cafe — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

After reading trip advisor reviews we decided to try a different type of restaurant after having standard taverna Greek food for a week. It started off wonderfully, as I was able to have a glass of prosecco instead of the sweet red wine I've endured so far Also food was minimal on the menu but suffice to choose. We ordered and waited and waited and waited then my partners meal came out, mine followed 20 mins later. Disappointed to say the least. My partner had already finished his and my chicken (snitzel is all I could call it) was overcooked, had no cream and I think they had run out of spinach. All that was offered was a couple of shots that we declined. And then offered us dessert to which my partner agreed but only one came out. So sent back a 11.50 euro meal and got 3.50 compenstation. Such a shame as the evening started so well. But if you don't mind waiting and waiting then I'm sure you could find a burger on the menu to come out quicker. The place is obviously understaffed with one waitress and one in the kitchen and a bloke behind the bar that stood on his phone and didn't help the young lady. We had lunch here under a great big tree in the garden. The food was well presented and very tasty. We ordered two club sandwiches and two coke zero's. When the food arrived we saw that just the one sandwich would easily have been enough for two. The chips were freshly made and pipping hot. The sandwiches were fresh and the fillings were plentiful. The services was awesome and the whole establishment was tasefully decorted and clean. The condiment basket looked like an old pirate chest and added some fun when presented...

Another great evening here 3rd in 2 weeks, burgers are amazing and great value along with reasonably priced drinks, great cocktails and the vibe is up beat and buzzy, staff are attentive and sharp, and the waiter Antonis smells divine and is excellent front of house, a real head turner and a pleasure to be served by.
