had the pleasure of dining at Taverna Skalakia in Pastida, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with warm Greek hospitality and a charming ambiance that set the stage for an unforgettable meal.

The first thing that struck me was the authenticity of the place. Taverna Skalakia exudes a genuine Greek vibe, with its rustic decor, traditional music, and the warm smiles of the staff. It's the kind of place where you instantly feel at home.

This was the best lunch we had in Rhodes. A cozy place in an authentic town with few tourists. The service was great - the girl explained the available dishes in perfect English, showing us pictures of them on her phone. We didn’t have to wait long for the food, which was fresh and very tasty (I only took a photo of the salad because I wanted to eat, not take photos 😂). Finally, they treated us to a delicious dessert. The cherry on top was the Greek family at the next table who bought us wine just for letting them put a baby carriage next to our table. I decided to eat at Skalakia based on Google ratings. It's ok, but there's better a little further down the road. I arrived at about 7ish, if there hadn't been people eating then I would have thought they were closed as none of the tables had been set. Service, whilst very friendly, is rather slow. I've no objection to slow when I have company or there's entertainment. As I had neither, slow was a bit annoying. My meal was ok, I had pork souvlaki. My first and then my last mouthfuls felt like they took a lifetime to chew, though it was still very tasty. I would have liked some tzatziki to accompany the dish but hey, that's personal preference and I didn't ask for any, so...
