Memories Taverna — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

I'm afraid this was a very poor experience; mainly due to the service. The only waiter was a lady who couldn't have been more miserable. She was possibly overawed with having to baby sit 2 kids who were riding around the Taverna on their bikes! The 2 items we asked for from the menu were not available so we compromised and the alternatives were fine. It's a great spot here just off the beach with lovely views from the outside tables which would have been ideal had there not been loud shouting from withing the Taverna - was it her shouting at the kids or her shouting at the chef or vice versa? Whatever, you can't afford to give a poor impression these days. At least make an effort and pretend to be pleasant.. and cut out the shouting! A fake smile is always better than a scowl which is pretty much what we got when asking about the menu, the toilets and when paying the bill. I kind of felt sorry for her but appearance is all when it comes to...

We gave it a try twice - first time there was a daughter helping the older lady and the food was ok (although we were not very welcomed in the beginning) but second time the food was not tasty and even though i understood it’s super hard to take care of everything by one older woman alone (including her grandchildren) it’s not worth paying the same price for poor quality of food and service. Leider können wir die durchweg positiven Bewertungen nicht bestätigen. Wir waren an einem Montag Abend gegen 18 Uhr in der Taverna und haben uns Tzatziki und Pita als Vorspeise bestellt und jeweils eine Gyros-Platte. Das zuvor bestellte Moussaka war leider nicht bestellbar. Zum trinken hatten wir jeweils eine kleine Cola. Wir haben 29,50 bezahlt und das Essen war nicht wirklich gut. Die Pommes waren nicht durch und hatten einen komischen Geschmack und auch die Portion war für 10,00 pro Platte nicht gerecht. Preis-Leistung stimmte hier leider nicht, da haben wir schon deutlich günstiger & sehr viel besser hier im Ort gegessen. Den Chef, der hier in den Bewertungen oft erwähnt wird, haben wir gar nicht gesehen. Wir denken, dass dieser nicht da war und deswegen evtl das Essen auch nicht gut war.
