Well what can I say.......I'm staying 1 hour and 20 minutes away from this restaurant however when we first visited last week Wednesday on the 6th of August......our 11 year wedding anniversary (Married in Lindos, St Paul's Bay) we stayed in PEFKOS for 3 nights at the same hotel we stayed at when we got married. (Island Blu in Pefki) We were only 25 minutes away. The Taverna was recommended by a resident of the island and boy we were not disappointed. Hands down the best Greek food we've EVER eaten. So tasty fresh and so simple but flavoured to perfection. Everything including the hummus, the Rhodian pitta to the Shrimp saganaki and the spaghetti Bolognese. It was so good we met a Swedish couple in lindos that same night and took them there the following day for lunch. Again spot on. Please please check this place out of you are a good lover. I promise you won't be disappointed. The location, the ambience the streets, the decor......it was all just simply perfect. All the staff on that day and the next were the best. Including Panagiotis, Sotiria (chef/owner), Elisabeth, Maria and Helen were simply delightful. I'm currently sat on Pefki beach chilling. Going to have a shower on the beach (free) put on some smart cloths and go again for the 3rd time tonight with our table booked for 7pm.x. We can't wait. Check out the pics. Read moreZorbas Tavern in Gennadi is an absolute must visit! We enjoyed it so much that we dined there twice, and would have gone for a third time if only there had been an empty table! It’s no wonder the place was packed with customers, this is hands down one of the best dining experiences we had in Rhodes.
Let’s start with the fried squid. It was, without exaggeration, the best calamari I’ve ever eaten. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. I could have happily eaten it every day.
The portions were massive (literally giant) so be prepared to leave full and satisfied (and order accordingly). For six people we ordered sea bass, vegetable moussaka, mixed meat plate, chicken souvlaki, and several side dishes & starters. The garlic mushrooms with olive oil were bursting with flavour, and the dolmades were simply divine. You can really tell that they use fresh ingredients.

We ordered hot chilli cheese dip and talagani cheese with fig jam as appetizers (wow, good portions and so yummy), stifado and musaka which were HUGE, we had to ask to pack them as a take away because it was not possible to eat them! The beef in stifado was of melting in mouth in a rich sauce, the huge pile of French fires with oregano was fresh and crunchy, musaka was simply delicious! For 2 appetizers, 2 huge main dishes, 1 bottle of water (1l), and a basket of pita and bread we payed 34,50 euros.
