We came to Mythos 3 times over our stay on the island. The first time we were looking exclusively for baklava, which they had plenty of. The second time, we came for some savoury pastries - we had one with spinch and one with feta and honey. The third time, we came for breakfast an dhad 2 pastries, one with spinach (same as before), and one sweet one called Bougatsa.
Starting with the baklava - it was tasty, crunchy and very sweet as you would expect. Similar to any quick baklava sold by cafès and bakerys in greece. It didnt hit home as particularly amazing but satisfied the craving we had. I wouldnt try baklava for the first time here, but if you are feeling like a quick treat, it would hit the spot.
The savoury pastries - Both excellent, particularly the spinach one which we bought a second time when we returned. The spinach stuffing was incredible. The spinach is cooked with mint and maybe feta aswell in a way to enhance its taste. Extraordinary. The filo pastry is crispy and suits the soft inner perfectly.
The bougatsa - here we were really stunned. I had never had this treat before and both my girlfriend and I adored it. It is basically filo pastry stuffed with semolina custard. Very reminiscent of Portugal's pastel de nata in taste, but bigger and somewhat heavier (in the best way possible). I recommend adding cinnamon as it complements the custard wonderfully.
They do plenty of food both hot and cold, from sandwiches to pancakes and meats with eggs, sweet and savoury, coffee and drinks. We didn’t try and of these so I can’t comment on their hot food...
Read moreWouldn’t recommend, felt very uncomfortable, staff weren’t friendly as being on holiday I thought would be a nice place for breakfast but I was wrong, I paid £35 for 2 breakfasts and left the full plate it was awful! Don’t go if your around here you’ll be highly disappointed, there are much better quality cafes/ restaurants nearby which may I also add are actually affordable. I truly do not understand how there are so many 5* reviews. No doubt they will reply “Thanks” to this...
Read moreFood was excellent, if a bit expensive for Rhodes. No problems with quality.
The place itself is adjacent to the busiest road on the island so very noisy. Stay inside of you can.
Service was relatively slow but friendly. No major issues but nothing stellar either.
The inside needs a bit of cleaning in the corners and the staircase to the restrooms - which also need a significant overhaul. That's a shame because it detracts a lot from the...
