Had an amazing dining experience at Desert 🌹! The ambiance was warm and welcoming, with thoughtful decor and a great vibe. We made it for thier opening night post the winter break and a special shout out to the staff who were incredibly attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. We tried a variety of dishes — the avocado on toast was fresh and flavorful, and the pita was so soft it practically melted in our mouths. But the absolute standout was the spare ribs — perfectly cooked, fall-off-the-bone tender, and packed with rich, smoky flavor. The service was impressively fast, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality. Another highlight was the variety of drinks available — the sangria, in particular, was a unique and delightful find in this part of Rodos. Refreshing, well-balanced, and bursting with fruity notes, it paired perfectly with the meal. Whether you're after delicious food, great drinks, or a relaxing atmosphere, this place ticks all the boxes. We’ll definitely be coming back!!

We tried this place based on all the good reviews which I can happily say were accurate. On a windy night such as ours last night, the roof terrace was not an option. Top tip is to book as the place was full when we left with plenty of people waiting. This is not a place to be in a rush, service is not fast. They have quite quite loud music which gives it a great atmosphere and the waiter/esses are all very chilled and your orders are taken on an iPad. The food was faultless. I had moussaka, my husband beef stifado, my teen son opted for a huge mixed grill which despite his best efforts could not conquer. My 13 year old daughter chose the grilled calamari. All were mouth wateringly delicious. The signature cocktails are pretty spectacular, one of them comes served in a wooden treasure chest! We had no space for desert but managed to wash down their complimentary shot of something :).x 4 main courses, 3 beers, x2 soft drinks set us back £100 which seems about right for this type of restaurant.

Desert rose is a beautiful yet affordable restaurant located not very far from Faliraki beach, serving fresh delicious food and incredible cocktails. Throughout my holiday I had the chance to try multiple dishes and drinks and I can say I was impressed by the quality of the ingredients used and the flavours. For the food I wholeheartedly recommend their meat dishes especially my favourite the lamb leg cooked the Greek way! For fish lovers o recommend the seabass dish. For something fresh or for vegetarians, I recommend the delicious Greek salad and Greek pizza. And in terms of cocktails you must try their signature ones, starting with Apple Pie which for me was the most special cocktail I ever had. The lovely open interior design offers an amazing atmosphere and the staff is all friendly, helpful and overall offering a great service. 100% recommend!

Immaculate service and hospitality and a place where we truly got to experience the real Hellenic 'filotimo' feeling that emanates through the flavors of amazing Greek cuisine in just two words; Desert Rose. While there are many venues to dine at Rhodes, there are many who claim to offer good Greek traditional food, none of which come close to what our taste buds have to attend at Desert Rose in Faliraki.

The menu is simple but well prepared in the choice and further catering for a multitude of languages along with the ability of waiters to communicate not only in Greek and English, but also in many other languages that allow the diner to feel right at home.

A tall refreshing glass of ouzo on ice quickly opened our appetite and prepared us for the delights ahead. We ordered and we did not wait long for our dishes to arrive.

Traditional Greek food with a modern international slant, even saganaki takes a whole new life at this restaurant with a fried feta cheese variation that is wrapped in filo pastry and drizzled with honey that left us pleading guiltily for an additional serving.

The versions of saganaki did not stop there, because even prawns got to embark on their own delectable adventure with cheese and tomato salsa that no amount of bread could keep us from wiping the plate clean with, that's prawn saganaki.

It's as if we could not have been blown enough, we were served with our selected main courses; a good portioned size mixed grill platter with a variety of juicy meats ranging from village style sausages, juicy and flavourful gyros, BBQ style pork spare ribs that melted in our mouths, kebabs, tender chicken fillet and a burger patty that was complimented by tzatziki, thick fries and pita bread.

The seafood salad was no stranger to being of a healthy portion either. A collection of fresh octopus, shrimps and mussels on a bed of iceberg lettuce and tomatoes accompanied by a mouth watering 'thousand Island Greek dressing'.

As we end up in a second glass of ouzo on ice, we were delightfully full, and I'm pretty sure that our taste buds were dancing the Zorba from the multitude of traditional and modern bursts of flavors that came their way during the dinner.

Greeks have a sweet tooth and traditionally a small desert with either a coffee or some ouzo are usually served in homes to guests as a welcoming gesture. Desert Rose did not just welcome us with their food but offered a complimentary piece of chocolate cake that was so light in texture and not short of blended chocolate, hazelnut and creamy flavors, that I soon found out the owners prepared fresh daily. It was their way to say thank you and please come again.

We did come again and again. We were in Rhodes for 6 days and we managed to squeeze in 3 meals at this esquisite restaurant. Every time they have never failed to enhance their quality in their hospitality, service, etiquette and most of their food.

My parents are Greek, and I can honestly say that the mousaka that we had for dinner a few days later scored a top place on the leaderboard compared to my mum's. The bechamel sauce was like a fluffy cloud on top of the eggplant, the potato and tomato and the beef coin, which, with every mouthful you had to close your eyes so you could raise your senses and focus on the color of flavors.

Fried large calamari rings with a freshly squeezed lemon that melted in your mouth, and it is absolutely for you and kleftiko pastry with a tender pulp lamb for our third dinner in experience.

If we could, we would have eaten here every day, but refrained only to give others a go. We were drawn back every time, because it really is a place that others surely have to compete with to score top marks.

Desert Rose has something that others do not; they have the winning formula and they have found the balance of being traditional, modern, international and keeping that Greek family, homely feeling well and truly alive!

If you go to Rhodes, Desert Rose is a must for part of...

We had a reservation for 10:00pm, but on arrival were told our table wasn’t ready and left standing around for 20 minutes. To add insult, people who arrived after us were seated immediately. When we were finally given a table, we were completely ignored for almost 50 minutes no drinks, no water, no order taken, not even the courtesy of basic acknowledgement.

The so-called manager was running around the floor like a headless chicken with an iPad glued to his hand, yet somehow managed to achieve absolutely nothing. When I tried to get his attention, he outright blanked me. The level of rudeness and incompetence was laughable .

When the food eventually turned up, it was just as bad as the service. My carbonara was bland, watery, and tasteless, while my partner’s souvlaki was rubbery, flavourless, and barely edible. After waiting that long, it felt like an insult.

This place is nothing but hype. Shocking service, clueless management, rude staff, and food that was absolutely underwhelming to say the least . Save yourself the time, money, and frustration there are far better restaurants nearby that actually know how to treat customers and serve food with...
