A real slice of Greek cooking with the restaurant headed up by the titular Nikos and Maria and ably assisted by their sons. No space as each table is full, don't worry, they probably have another table to put out on the street.
Once you are seated the family will be there to service your needs, sometimes super fast, sometimes a bit slow, buy that's just the way, sit back and enjoy.
The food won't win any Michelin stars but it is quality, homecooked proper Greek fare at astonishingly good prices. The lamb chops were a highlight from our meal. Crispy and burnt on the outside and succulent on the inside.
Wine comes carafe style and is decent, if unremarkable, but again, you are not here for the vintage and chateau.
We got talking to other guests, shared a few holiday tales and jokes and all us were the same, there for the experience and the fun.

Read moreWe loved this place, first impressions might make you think it is a regular bar/restaurant but the staff are lovely and made us very welcome, the menu is no frills but very well prepared and good value. Quick service . We went for a mixed grill for 2 that was lovely but massive. Not shy on their measures if you order a short, also a nice touch at the end with a thank you shot for us both. Welcoming, friendly, no frills, good value …thank you. Also there is a great little shop over the road run by a lovely geordie girl who took it over last year (2023) and could do with our support. Some really...
Read moreNikos, Maria, and everyone working there are absolutely wonderful. We felt so welcomed and by our last night there felt like part of the family. AND THE FOOD! We tried many other places in town during our stay, but we always ended up coming back. Nikos and Maria's was the best Greek food I've every had. The tzatziki is delicious, the souvlaki, gyro, everything. You just can't go wrong. If you are nearby, you HAVE to eat here. We were in town for a week and ate there 4-5 times. It was...
