Don't go off you only want a light lunch and don't want to spend a small fortune on seafood.

We visited yesterday as a family of 3 adults and 3 children, just looking for a light lunch. The waiter seated us at a lovely table right on the edge of the restaurant with a beautiful view, which we appreciated.

However, once he took our order, he became noticeably annoyed that, and said in his opinion, we hadn’t ordered any food! One adult had only a glass of wine, and one of the children chose a smoothie and a banana split, but we did order food. It seemed he was frustrated that we didn’t order seafood, which apparently is what they prefer to serve at those tables. If that’s the case, it really should be made clear before seating guests there, since we didn’t request that spot, we were put there by the waiter himself. I would have be happy to sit further back so we could have enjoyed a nice lunch without someone being rude to us about our food choices.

We would have understood his frustration if the restaurant had been really busy and tables were in short supply, but it wasn’t overly busy at the time. The bill still came to just over €60, which we paid in full. I even pointed out to the other waiter who took our payment that we might have ordered more had the waiter not been so rude about our initial choices. For the same reason, we did not leave a tip, something we always do when eating out.

The location is beautiful, but the service left us feeling unwelcome, which spoiled what could have been a very...

Loved our full day stay at this taverna. Had sunbeds and umbrella on the beach where we were served drinks too by Michael, a great guy who does his best to make his guests happy. The beach usually has an onshore breeze so it is very pleasing to Northern Europeans like us! We later had a meal, chicken souvlaki for myself and Greek salad with bread for my wife with more drinks. As the evening came we went up the hill to see the amazing ancient Greek ruins of the city no more than 1km away. The beach here is sandy with very few pebbles! We swam in the warm, sheltered, sea and watched the sun go down in an amazing sunset. The best day of our holiday made by a lovely Greek family and their staff who made it so special! Go there and have the best day of your holiday too! To any of those staff and family from Old Kamiros Taverna reading this, thank you! We will return and I hope this review encourages others to visit your...

We stopped by this charming tavern on our way back to the hotel. There’s convenient parking just across the road, which made it an easy stop. The outdoor seating area is nicely shaded, offering a relaxing spot to unwind.

After a short walk along the nearby pebble beach, we cooled off with some refreshing fresh orange juice and smoothies. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food arrived very quickly.

We ordered the lamb chops and the seafood platter – both were absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavour. The view from the tavern is lovely too, overlooking a small beach below which adds to the laid-back atmosphere.

Prices were very reasonable for the quality and experience. Definitely well recommended if you're passing by the area – a perfect little spot to relax and enjoy...

Hungry on our way back to Rhodes town we wanted to find a place where to eat dinner and watch the sunset. And Old Kamiros Taverna was just the right place for us. A family owned and run tavern, very welcoming and happy people. We ordered a greek salad, fried zucchini, fresh sea bream and seafood plate. Everything came fast and was very tasty. We had a peaceful dinner overlooking the small beach next to the shadowed rustic and simple terrace. I recommend this place if on your route and if you look for genuine, simple and authentic meal at fair price, far from the crowds and noise.
