We were staying at Villa Artemis at the other end of Koskinou and wanted somewhere local to eat on our last night. We walked round the square and some places were closed so we looked at the menu and decided to take a chance. There was no-one else in and the far end of the restaurant was closed off with piled up furniture but the very friendly waiter/ owner invited us in and as we looked at the menu said - I will bring you some local specialities. This was high risk as our 14 yr old can be quite a fussy eater but my wife and I looked at each and thought 'what the hell?' And what a great choice that was, there followed dish after dish of wonderful tasty, varied, (vegetarian and meaty), dishes all freshly prepared and delicious. stuffed vine leaves, pastry baked cheese with honey and sesame seeds, the best salad we'd had all week, a moussaka, baked aubergine, falafels, meat balls and wrapped up with wonderful honeyed dough balls.
