Very cute family run village restaurant. Sweet ambience, pleasant low volume traditional greek music in the background, looking out to the square by the church. Incredibly hospitable and friendly staff, three generations. Delicious, and really decently priced local food. I must regretfully admit that my difficult family from Adana, Turkey is almost impossible to satisfy anywhere including Turkey when it comes to food. And it's been especially difficult in Greece where the food is similar but not quite... But they loved and endorse this place, adored the owners AND were quite content with the food (that's a huge compliment) that they demanded that we go back there the next evening :) They especially appreciated the daily bought not frozen fresh meat, grilled bread assortment and I myself appreciated the veggie options as a dormant carnivore. Highly recommended, not only if you happen to be in Psinthos but to go to the village for the restaurant. Thanks a lot Platia family for the authentic experience and your...
Read moreWe had just finished touring the Valley of Butterflies, and were in need of lunch. Psinthos was on the road back to the eastern coast so I looked up what restaurants were in town. After looking at a couple I came across Taverna Platia and after reading some very positive reviews decided that’s where we’d go. Am I ever glad we did! The service was friendly and fast, the food was great, the prices were reasonable, and the town square it looked onto was attractive with a relaxed vibe. The little caring touches like the toasted baguette to start and the palette cleanser treat to end were very thoughtful and much appreciated. If we’re ever in Psinthos again, we’ll definitely go back! Thanks so much for the...
Read moreOur friend Georgios (see previous review) advised us to stop by this place. Never been so happy to follow a food suggestion! This beautiful Tavern, just by the church in the square, is ran by a real Greek family and you can definitely sense it from the atmosphere and the ambience. The look is very appealing and follows a mix of tradition and colour which is very charming. The lamb ribs were tender, flavoured, well cooked. Generally everything was good, and portions abundant with very convenient prices! Anna was very friendly. Best Greek tavern...
