Delicious. If you want the authentic experience this is it. The entrance is hard to find, you have to literally walk down to the waters edge and in from the side. (It's located under another restaurant). We called in on a Wednesday evening and we were the only people there. The nice man seemed to be the only person working (serving, cooking). We don't have a lot of greek and he didn't have a lot of English but after pointing at some pictures and the menu we got exactly what we wanted. He even showed us the fresh fish he would be cooking us and was carrying around potatoes when he was asking us when we would like each dish to arrive. Lovely wine, the tastiest homemade chips and the most perfectly cooked whole fish. When you go here don't expect a quick turn around, relax and enjoy your drinks and the view while the dishes are being made from scratch. The setting tops it off! Would definitely go...

Captain George, Sifnos — A Mythical Mess of Joy

Stumbled into Captain George with sand on my paws and salt in my fur — left absolutely reborn. The octopus? So fresh it might’ve whispered “kalimera” before hitting the grill. The tzatziki? Thick, garlicky, unapologetically divine. The Mythos? Ice-cold and medicinal in the best possible way.

It’s rustic, it’s rowdy, it’s everything a summer taverna on Sifnos should be — plastic chairs, grilled perfection, zero pretense. No foams, no emulsions, no overpriced drizzles. Just honest island soul food, served with a wink and the occasional shout from the kitchen.

Malaka! This is living. 🐻🇬🇷🍻🐙 5/5 claws — and I’d give it six, but one’s still gripping the...

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel. It is in a magical location in rocks on the beach right on the sea. We had to take a windy path down to it and are greeted very nicely. The menu was great and the selection of the freshest fish was on offer. I would highly recommend the sea bream because it tastes so fresh and the flavour and texture is exquisite! Also the tuna steak and all the little sides were fantastic as well. The staff were very kind and made sure that we were happy at all times. The food came quickly and with the sound of the sea, the amazing fresh fish and the magical setting, this was a very special evening that I will not forget. I defiantly recommend...

My wife and I were recommended Captain George for lunch by a local guide. Could not have been happier. Very attentive service, beautiful fresh fish (very simply grilled with lemon, perfection!) and the setting was extraordinary, right down over the water. Well worth the walk down to the bay! Just as an aside, I’ve notice a couple of (less positive) reviews which seem to be for the restaurant above Captain George. I can’t talk to the quality of the other restaurant (we didn’t make it there on our trip unfortunately), but if you are looking for Captain George, make sure you’re not going upstairs. This one is down the alley right by the water. Enjoy!

Imagine: * one man with a passion for fish and a passion for hospitality. * 7 or 8 tables on a small porch "shadowed" by a larger restaurant. * one man alone who will take your order, cook your food and serve you with a smile on his face. Nowadays men have only 2 hands. So, bear with him and take the time to enjoy this unique experience with your feet almost in the sea. If you have the opportunity, try his catch of the day 🐟 We had a great time with the girlfriend chatting with the owner Stelios and following his food recommendations. Highly recommend waiting for a table. Don't go too late though, you might not have any fish left ?

The restaurant offers a very unique dining experience, run by a two-person team. The setting is lovely, right on the water edge. However, the food was a bit underwhelming overall. The prawns hadn’t been cleaned, which made for an unpleasant start — though once cleaned, they were actually quite tasty. On the other hand, the tuna dish was nice - fresh. Given the overall experience, the meal felt quite overpriced for the quality. While we appreciated the atmosphere, I expected more from the food.
