THE KONAKI — Restaurant in Municipality of Sifnos

We had a pretty underwhelming experience here. Ordered a typical greek salad and a veggie omelette. The salad had a a lot of water on the bottom of the bowl (mixed with some oil), which means they hadn’t dried of the veggies or the bowl before preparing the salad. The omlette had almost no taste. We were the only guests and yet the food took a very long time (more than 30min) to arrive at our table. The walnut cake we had for desert was fine. Service was friendly but kind of lackluster and hard to get hold of. Even though the food took a long time we were not even served some water or the orange juices we ordered. Surprised with the negativity as this is a charming little spot for a morning coffee and omelette/scrambled eggs. Why on earth anyone would complain about slow service needs their heads checked - this is Sifnos. If you don't like it, there are fast food joints elsewhere on the planet to get in a froth about. It is not the fault of this establishment you chose the wrong Island that does not exist solely to serve you nor folks that simply find relaxation a lifelong struggle. For anyone else with time on their hands and in no particular rush, this place is delightful - and the coffee is excellent. As are the eggs. Visited...

During our stay on Sifnos we had brunch at The Konaki twice. The club sandwich was delicious and came with a LOT of fries. We ordered an omelette with ham and cheese and the waitress gave us a baguette for the omelette. The second time we came we asked for toast instead of a baguette for the omelette and they gave us toast without hesitation. The Konaki is located in Kastro. The terrace is very cute.
