I'm normally very suspicious of 4.9/5.0 reviews when traveling abroad, but Passione Italiana deserves the full 5.0/5.0.
This is some of the best Napoli-centric, Italian food you'll have outside of Rome or Naples.
We first came here for dinner on our first night in Sifnos, ordered the focaccia, beef carpaccio, mussles and clam pasta, pistachio pesto shrimp pasta, and tiramisu for dessert. Each bite took us back to Italy, especially when paired with a glass of Italian red.
After we rolled ourselves back to our accommodation, I dreamed of our dinner that night so I convinced my partner to come here again the next day for lunch.
Best decision ever.
We kept it simple for lunch and got the pistachio shrimp pasta (again) and amatriciana, savored every bite and still thinking about them to this day.
Service is incredibly warm, food is beyond delicious, and the drinks are affordable. What else can...
Read moreThis is a great restaurant. We ate there two nights in a row, our only two nights on the island. The second night, my wife ordered a dish and asked to change the pasta type, and the owner who was waiting on us didn't understand. So they brought the wrong dish. And then my wife asked again, and they brought the wrong dish again. She was just going to eat it, but the owner insisted on bringing the right dish. And she offered my wife a free glass of wine which is in addition to the free after dinner drinks they always give. I'll be very honest, my wife speaks with a heavy accent and she's very hard to understand, and I think that the problem was 90% on her side, but the owner couldn't be nicer and more accommodating and generous. Plus the food is absolutely outstanding here. Highly...
Read moreThe most authentic Italian restaurant cooking I have tasted outside of Italy !! Italian is my favourite cuisine, both to eat out and cook myself, and I’ve visited Italy’s culinary centres many times. Passione’s Carbonara is testament to the authenticity of their recipes. No cream! No garlic! The use of guancialle, and great technique to emulsify the sauce, the REAL way to make this Roman dish. Which they do better than many good Roman restaurants. It’s simply outstanding! Their pizza is also in the Roman style, wafer thin and a glorious chewy crust, Bellissimo! Though , I do understand that many people prefer their pizza in the deep pan style of Napoli. Maybe why a few negative reviews about the pizza. It’s a fabulous restaurant, just go and enjoy! We have… 4 times...
