Vegeraki — Restaurant in Municipality of Sifnos

Honesty is everything. I asked for an espresso of which the price is clearly mentioned on a blackboard (€1,5). I gave €2 and said I’d also take a bottle of water (mentioned on the blackboard for €0,5). He said it was €1 for the water and I had to give extra. It was clearly on purpose because I referred to the blackboard and he kept saying €1 on a certain intonation to put pressure. When I said no and someone else working there came and clarified it was 1,5 and 0,5 so the €2 I gave them was correct, his body language was clear, didn’t look at me anymore, didn’t say anything anymore, felt uncomfortable. It’s a small amount of money, it’s not the end of the world, but everything starts with honesty. Tourists might not speak the language but they are not stupid.

Amazing breakfast with really friendly people working there. It's the most central place in Appolonia village and everyone passes from there to reach the bars. It offers typical Greek breakfast and afterhour delicacies like homemade cheese pie, spinach pie, chicken pie, mushroom pie among a lot of choices. There are also a lot of traditional Greek desserts to try. Like a typical bakery, there are no tables to sit and eat so everything is for take away. Excellent selection and taste. You can smell the freshly baked goods from down the road. Definitely go for the local, handmade, pie (would recommend the mushroom) but everything we tried was very tasty.
