Aposperítis — Restaurant in Municipality of Sitia

No flavour to the food, Do not recommend to anyone. Went there only because of the 4.6 Mark but when its actually 1 or 2 stars. Starter plates were just something that looked like the leftovers from other dishes and not cohesive in flavours at all. Had 6 tiny plates with cucumber/tomatoes, some animal liver, just pickled few slices of beetroot, dry bread and some stuffed courgette flowers. ALL these dishes had no seasoning and flavour apart from beetroot, which must have come from a pickle jar. The chicken tasted like boiled chicken with just a spoon of meted mustard on top and placed on a dead pile of fries… (NO FLAVOUR) just dead blunt chicken. (It was that bad that I had to ask the waiter to remove it from the table)… sad

My boyfriend ordered pasta with seafood, which came in a size what looked like for 3 people. This would be so much better if they didn’t charge €18 for this massive meal, but instead made it a smaller portion, for cheaper price and add some flavour to it.

Hope they try their own food and read the reviews because the need to make some changes, as the idea is there but no execution.

The restaurant also is understaffed and waiters cannot physically make sure everyone is served well and in time. They are running around, trying to do as much as they can!

Despite making an effort for two days, we were unable to spend money there. They simply didnt want to sit us. On the previous evening, we went there to make a reservation for some of the outside tables. We've been explained they don't make reservations for these, we should come early and just sit if a table is available. On the next day, we went there early. 90% empty, but "fully reserved". Then we asked for a table that was about to get free. They told us to wait for it, because they cannot keep it reserved. So we waited. When it got free, a hostess showed up and told us this table is reseved for a group that came earlier and asked to reserve the table. Despite the humiliation, we asked the hostess to keep for us the next table that gets free. She kindly declined and gave us a lot of hypocritical apologies, because "everything is reserved" Apparently, what was possible for others was not possible for us. If you are an English speaking couple, just stay away. Very unusual atttitude...

The food is quite good (if you like it too much salted or if you like tzazki without garlic)but you order tzaziki and you are not given or proposed any bread with it. The waiting is very long, even for the 2 beers we ordered we had to wait at least 20 minutes. It is unbearable! We paid 10€ for 3 small pieces of octopus which were served with...nothing not even a bit of rice or vegetables. How is this possible in a restaurant with a 4.7 mark out of 5? The waiters are so busy they don't treat you as real clients deserve it. I absolutely NOT recommend this place, unless you like to be treated like you were just a wallet full of money. Really a very bad experience Even when we asked for the bill we had to wait almost 20 minutes more and we had to get into the restaurant to be considered.
