Best restaurant in Sitia, no contest After eating at Inodion the other restaurants felt like cafeteria food in comparison.
We ate there our two last nights and it was great, my sister who is vegan got some of the greatest vegan spaghetti she has ever had, and it was not even on the menu, they made it specificly for her after she asked the waiter if it Would be possible. Needless to say she wasn’t disappointed, in fact I think it was one of the best dishes we had on the trip. The first night I asked the owner if it was possible to make an appetizer into a main dish by adding some extra on the side and made it exactly as I had envisioned it was the “Apaki”, but If you want the same taste of the traditional apaki with staka sauce, but with more meat then take the “pork tenderloin in staka sauce”. The second night I tried the veal stew with chestnuts and I would definitely say I have never ever tasted anything as delicious, it was a whole new flavor combination I had never encountered, while it had some spiced flavor it was still very rich and the meat was so tender. The owner also brought us a little sampling of their appetizers while we were waiting because he knew we would wait quite for our food, because it was busy that night. We ordered the stuffed wine leaves, fried zucchini and vegetable pies which all were great but I think the grilled vegetables we sampled were the best! I cannot recommend this place enough not only is the food the best in Sitia no question about it, but all of the staff is super friendly and really wants you to have a great night with the best food possible. Don’t wait take Inodion you won’t regret it.
TLDR; best food in sitia hands down. The staff can adjust the food to your liking and their are just super...
Read moreThis very popular local rakadiko, I e. drinks and food place was highly recommended. It exceeded all expectations. We went on one of the busiest nights of the year and even though the waiters were run off their feet, service was friendly, courteous and unhurried. The food was exceptional. The flavours a pure minimalist take of the best of traditional cuisine. Nothing was excessive and everything tasted wonderful. We waited to be seated and as our order was going to take time we were treated to small dishes of amazing black-eyed beans dressed with what I think was orange juice, potato salad of exceptional flavour using the amazing local potatoes, scrambled eggs with courgettes and amazing baby olives. We chose an flavourful rose dry and distinctive yet fruity and aromatic -Prinos from Iamantakis Winery- and the dishes we chose went beautifully with it.
Definitely a place to try and...
Read moreWhat a shame and big disappointment. We asked for a delay between the starters and mains. The waiter said, "Tell us when you want the mains, and you'll have them in 15 minutes." Perfect, we thought. We chose from the Cretan spalecials. The starters of Natiki and fish soup were delicious. We talked about going back for another meal because there were a few other things we liked the sound of. We thought the waiter would remove the starter plates, but he didn't. After quite a while, I went to find him and said we were ready for our mains. After about 15 minutes he came to our table and said the sea bass was on it's way but remind me did you order lamb or goat. This is 2 hours from ordering. I said goat, 15 minutes later nothing had arrived, so I asked for the bill and asked to cancel my goat. There was no apology, which is odd for the friendly Crete people....
