2nd visit was sad. The dark haired bearded guy threw the menu on the table and made us feel as unwelcome as a papparazi at an A list wedding(unlike the lovely chef who welcomed us first time.) So, we left... below is our first visiit. Slightly hidden, you'll find this reliable taverna. We weren't hungry at all, but our host was so accommodating (turns out he usually cooks) that we indulged in the world class combo champions of tzatziki and spinach pies. We also met the very charming owner. In a town of reliable cooking and wide open smiles, this fits in.

Family-run tavern serving home-made Cretan dishes (mainly casserole/ oven / grill) cooked by “mama” in the kitchen. If you’re staying around it’s better to “negotiate” (literally) your meal one day ahead. A local fisherman will provide the catch of the day (usually red porgy or white sea bream) and “mama” will prepare a delicious moussaka (eggplant and potatoes with minced meat in rich bechamel - highly recommended). Service is sui generis Cretan. Recommended for originality and flavours.

Visited this place today with friends after being at the beach. We waited 20 minutes to order and another 30 minutes until the food started coming to our table by the only waiter that the place had. I was the last one to receive my food, a chicken souvlaki and by the time it came I was already full as I was eating the other things we ordered. Food was ok but not anything special and the price we paid was absolutely ridiculous given the bad service and quality of food. We ordered one dakos, one tzatziki, one tiropitakia, 2 soutzoukakia, 1 chicken souvlaki, 1 chicken roast and 4 beers and we paid €70. That is absolutely ridiculous. Try to avoid this place as it is very slow and very expensive for what you get. The next door one that I went for a take away coffee and it looked much more decent as it had more staff to help with the service and customers...

Well, we went there in August 2016, becouse of so great opinions. I was so disappointed. There was a lot of Greek people there, so we are thinking that the food and service wil be great. However... The food food wasn't good, portion was small and expencive. When we ordeder a dish, after some time the service told us that they don't have it, that's ok but they propose us something cheaper in the same price... Also we felt that they are not treating us on the same level as other people. They got starters and aperitifs. Despite our order was in the same price we didn't. The stuff was not nice and helpful. We are vey disappointed of this service and all that place. This is first time in Greece when we were treated like that, I want to mention, that this is not our first time in this coutry. Otherwise wwe were visiting many places in...
