Taverna Julia — Restaurant in Municipality of Southern Corfu

We have visited the place several times before and the previous times the food was decent. Today, though, everything seemed off. First of all, even though the place was almost empty, they took our order quite late. Then, we had to wait for 40 minutes to be served. We ordered fried anchovies, fried squid and grilled shrimps. The first two dishes were ok. The shrimps, however, were less than mediocre. As if someone tried to defrost them with hot water and then dropped them -uncleaned- for a second on the grill. Unacceptable! When the waitress came to pick up the dishes, we told her about it and she became too defensive and ironic right away. "Oh, you wanted fresh ones, didn't you?" Then, we noticed that they served sweet treats to paying customers but they didn't bring anything to us. When we asked, the same waitress ironically said "oh, we didn't serve treats to you, oh.." and went into the kitchen never looking back. The matter is, we don't care about treats or whatever. The behaviour towards us was not professional. I have worked in similar places and I know how things work. These people seem to not care. So, no, we won't visit again. Customers deserve polite service and maybe an apology when things are not...

Very unfriendly staff and bad food. I've been there twice and each time it was a disaster. The first time we ordered two sandwiches that looked just like the burgers from McDonalds. One portion of fries was €4.50 and the small water at the end was also charged at a higher price than the menu said. When we realised this, they didn't believe us at first and then finally gave our money back. The next time I wanted to eat again and they didn't accept a card. So I had to leave straight away. When I then kindly asked if I could please use the toilet for a moment as it was an emergency, the woman told me coldly that only guests could use it. What kind of inhuman world do we live in? It wasn't that I didn't want to order anything, they were the ones who didn't accept cards and you don't always have cash with you. Really bad resort - if I could I would give it 0 points. Too bad about the beautiful beach that there are such...

If I could give 0 stars, I would. At first, we were told there were no tables available. A few minutes later, suddenly a table became free and we were offered seats — but the table was still full of dirty dishes from the previous guests. No one cleaned it before we sat down.

We waited over 30 minutes to place our order. We asked several times if someone could take it, and finally a very agitated and visibly annoyed blonde woman came to us. She had barely started taking our order when she suddenly told us they had a problem and could only accept cash.

I asked another staff member if this was true, and he simply said he couldn’t answer. What kind of service is that?
