Enjoyed our lunch here this afternoon and it was truly very delicious, as we are very familiar with Indian food (India, Great Britain, and NL), and this place is really high up in our top 3! Staff is very welcoming and hospitable. When ordering you are asked the level of spiciness you like, so the ‘spicy’ dishes it applies to are cooked to your taste. Very thoughtful. While waiting for your order, you get fresh papadums with sauces/chutneys from the house. Dishes are served very hot (as in; temperature) so you can take your time to enjoy everything. The dal is amazing, and their butter naans are freshly made, big, and soft on the inside but crispy on the outside! Our Chicken Korma, and its sauce, was very delicious as well as our Chicken Malai Tikka which was served in a sizzling hot pan. Their mango lassi was very thick, creamy and truly delicious. After we were finished eating, we got Gulab Jamun on the house.
It’s truly a pity that we were the only customers during lunchtime. The food is NOT the problem, this is probably because this place is not at the boulevard, but only 50 meters (passing taverna Akrogiali) further up the road, with no sea views. But who needs that when you get to eat such wonderful food. A great choice if you’d like go for something else then the Greek food… This place...
Read moreCan't give a full recommendation on this restaurant as I only had a takeaway. What I can say is that there were probably 28 people dining in, this was my first visit, I studied the considerably sufficient menu and made my order for my wife and I consisting of one starter, one main, one naan bread and a portion of pilau rice with an added Kingfisher beer to be getting on with while I waited. I only got half way through my beer when my order arrived, wow. I looked at the bill and paid it, thinking mmmmmm, that's dear enough, but hey ho I do enjoy Indian cuisine and haven't had any for some time (other than my wife's excellent cooking). When my wife dished it out we were both surprised at the more than ample sized portions, certainly enough for three persons ( I'll be having some tomorrow) and the taste of all dishes were excellent. I recommend this dining...
Read moreWe visited Stoupa for a family vacation and decided to give the area’s only Indian restaurant a try and we were truly impressed!! The quality of the food was outstanding; you’d be hard-pressed to find such excellent Indian cuisine even in Athens. One of the big pluses is that the menu also includes pizza. Perfect for those in the group who may not be fans of Indian food. We tried several dishes, and our favorite was definitely the Chicken Butter ( a must-try!) For the kids, we ordered pizza as well, which was equally delicious. The waiter and chef are from India, which adds an authentic touch to the whole experience. The outdoor seating area is beautiful, with natural shade from trees that keeps the temperature pleasant even at midday. Don’t miss the chance to try one of the Indian drinks on the menu, they pair wonderfully...
