Our first night in Stoupa and we chose this taverna at the south end of Stoupa’s main beach. We arrived shortly before 7.30pm and getting a table for 5 was easy but not long afterwards the taverna got very busy. Split into 3 sections, two with very good views of the sea, the beach and the sunset. One section more of a garden area to the side which was not really used during our visit. The waiter talked us through a number of specials which all sounded delicious but we all opted for meals from the main menu. All the Greek traditional options were there and we selected stifado, chicken souvlaki, imam and beef in tomato sauce. The meat dishes all came with a choice of oven potatoes, chips or rice. We also opted for starters: saganaki cheese and tsatziki. All the food was delicious and freshly cooked. We then enjoyed coffee and a complimentary slice of honey cake and a (we think) cherry liqueur shot. Five people came to a total of €109 which is very good value. Read moreWe ordered a fillet steak and chips and hummus. I always take a picture of the food we eat to share with others. It was smothered in pepper source and pale chips .not even garnish on the side. We couldent eat it as it was too spicy hot and the hummus tasted like chicken bouloun vile. We told the waiter that it was rank and he said that the chef had gone home .he also said that he told the chef to put the source on the side. Anyway we paid the whole bill and left. The very nice owner (?) is always willing to help you and explain if you have questions about the village or it’s surroundings.
