We had a bizarre experience. My teen daughter and I came to Greece first time. After a very long trip in the heat we arrived Petra. We randomly picked this place for beach chairs and some drinks. We put our towels, briefly looked around to see any staff then went into the water. Came out of the water again looked around for any sign , menu or staff but again there was no one. Oh well, the will come eventually. I got a phone call from bank fraud deportment for verification and a young lady showed up demanding an order. I tried to tell her to wait until I finish my brief phone call so can keep using my credit card but she didn’t let me continue my phone call kept saying “ order now or 10Euro now” of course fraud department hung up in that ruckus I ordered a beer and tried to reach the bank again. She came back with my order of one beer. I asked her why she didn’t let me finish 2min phone call or ask an order before the phone call. She said” well you have been sitting 20 min without an order my boss said go get an order or get 10Euro. Btw the beer is 10Euro, you have to pay now, we don’t open tabs” I quietly finished my beer and moved onto the next place with chairs.
Next door (Mojo) makes great cocktails and apperantly a beer doesn’t cost 10Euro 🤦♀️ in Petra. Our whole bill was 60Euro with plenty...
Read moreAs a family of four with two late teens we used the beach at the Eden and the cafe four or five times during the day and stopped for a drink one evening. The guy I took to be the owner was very friendly and cheery as was the young lady bringing drinks to the beach and waiting table. We only had lunch snacks such as crêpes, waffles and salads but all were really nice and there was a wide selection of drinks. The fresh peach juice was really good. Prices were reasonable. The beachside seating area is comfortable and makes a welcome break from the sun. It was also nice that we were never rushed away once we had eaten. Over the course of the day guess we averaged a spend of about €50 for the four of us. Beach was great with plenty of sunbeds which are free as long as you spend something at the Eden, which seemed fair enough. The sea is also lovely and if your patient there's loads to see snorkeling. (Highlights for us we're an Octopus and Flying Gurnards - look them up...
Read moreWe went into this bar on the morning of the man u v Liverpool game to see if we could reserve a table for 8....we were told that as he had seen us go into another bar during our holiday, he would not allow us to reserve a table!
That evening, we went for food early, to ensure we could get a table at bar eden as this seems to be the only bar I'm petra that shows sports (my 10 year old son is man u mad).
Upon arrival we were advised the game didn't start until 10pm, to this we responded with "we would like a couple of drinks first". We were told to go to blue sky hotel, as they are bigger, and he could not accommodate us??
Our party consisted of 8 people (5 adults and 3 children), there was no one else inside the bar so we were suprised to be turned away.
The man that spoke to us was extremely rude. Fortunately they were able to seat us at the blue sky hotel and were very welcoming after the awful experience we...
