Restaurant Nostos — Restaurant in Municipality of Western Samos

This is a mixed bag really.

I will start with the negative.

The food unfortunately was the worst we had for the week we have been here, and we eat out 2 times a day. The pasta bolognese is bland and dry, and the one that goes in the oven is caked with a thick layer of Cheese, that unfortunately did not enhance the dish - quite the contrary.

The pizza was mediocre at best. To be honest I'm not sure whether it's cheap ingredients or if the tomato sauce is to sweet, but it didn't do the amazing pizza oven they have, the Justice it deserves.

Because - I will commend them on a few things here.

The staff is smiling and friendly. They actually write in the menu card, if an item is frozen and not fresh - HUGE RESPECT! All restaurants should do this. They have a proper pizza oven, and the Product they make looks super delicious.

Now , we might just have been there on a "bad night " and we ordered only 4 items off the menu so could be that was "unlucky picks"

Overall an underwhelming...

Pizzza was okay. Service not. We orderd some extra fries and 50% was cold and certainly a left over from the other table. The table next to us was a very large table and were finished about the same time as we were. They orderd deserts with fruit and we saw a lot of watermelon laying on the table when they left. We saw how their table was cleaned up. When we were finished we had a ‘generous’ free desert. Of course it were some pieces of watermelon. We didn’t touched it of course. We thougt it was enough Nostos for us and we asked for the bill. We got a bill that was more then 2 times our amount. I told the waiter that this was not correct. He knew immediately, without looking at the bill, what I was talking about and took the bill inside and corrected it. So watch out if you had a drink and...

Deze keer een review in 2 delen. Het restaurant: Wij hebben hier heel lekker gezeten, de sfeer was helemaal goed. Lekker eten en drinken. Faire prijzen en prima bediening. Dat mag wat ons betreft 5 sterren hebben.... Echter het strand is een ander verhaal. Positief, ligbedden zijn top. Een dikke matras erop, zo hoort het. Alleen er is bijna niemand bij hun op het strand ten opzichte van de andere beachbars-restaurants. Dit is 1 van de weinige plekken hier waar je moet betalen voor een ligbedje. Dit is op zich wat mij betreft niet zo erg als de rest er om heen klopt. Maar helaas waren de dames van de bediening vooral druk met hun vriendjes aan de bar en hadden ze ons inziens weinig zin in hun werk. De eigenaar (volgens ons), is boven in het restaurant en heeft geen zicht op de kwaliteit van wat er gebeurt op het strand... Wijntje hier is fors aan de prijs zeker gezien wat de collega's vragen in Votsalakia, helemaal gezien de kwaliteit van de drank. Dus voor ons het restaurant een dikke JA. De beachbar slaan we graag over. Een paar plekken verder zit je bij Island beach bar met een big smile te genieten van de super goede kwaliteit wijn (uit Samos, we hadden dus een hele fles). Daarbij kregen wij gratis pindas geserveerd, later ook nog 3 soorten fruit. Niet te vergeten een flesje water. Daarna nog allebei een zoete Samos dessertwijn. Alles uit mooie kwaliteits wijnglazen en een leuk verhaal over de wijnen. Daarbij de hele persoonlijke en attente bediening, de gratis ligbedden en uiteindelijk... de rekening.... wij dachten, nu komt het. Wat denk je 16 euro.... zoek het...
