Opos Palia — Restaurant in Municipality of Xylokastro and Evrostina

This is a true gem! We went to Opos Palia on the 25th of March, a national celebration day for Greece, a rather busy day for most restaurants and taverns that get filled with people after the school and the parades. They served their regular menu and a few extra special dishes for the day. We tried several starters, main dishes, wines and their own housewine and the desserts we got offered (treated for free at the end of our meal). Everything, literally everything was FANTASTIC! I'm very picky when it comes to food, whenever I'm impressed by something, it truly is magnificent! Especially the caramelized Pork with barbeque sauce and baby potatoes slow cooked in the hull was top notch. I'd travel 2h30m again just to eat this tasteful creation! The beef with pasta and graviera cheese in earthenware was fabulous as well. The traditional (for the day) Cod (Bakaliaros in Greek) fish with garlic puree was very good as well. The "like in the old times" salad was very... Fresh and refreshingly cool with all kinds of vegetables, nice vinegraitte sauce and figs, pomegranate and raisin, very tasty! For starters we tried the Talagani cheese with lemon chutney and the pumpkin meatballs, both were very well made and tasty! The red wine in both outsourced and homemade variants was very good. And the orangepie and chocolate mosaic we got treated were also good. The pricing was very reasonable for the location, the restaurants class and interior and exterior design. With 25 to 30 euros per person you can eat like a king! The personnel was very kind and helpful and the restroom was spotless (very clean!). Probably the best choice for great food in the area of Trikala Korinthias! Highly recommended!...

It became our favorite place in Trikala; we discovered it after 2 days being in Trikala since it is not on Middle Trikala main road. Everything we tried there was super good, but the oyster mushrooms and the stuffed eggplant, together with the Opos Palia salad, were beyond perfection. Also, if you want a very healthy and tasty option, try they rooster burguer! And they also offered us some sweet for free (the mosaiko cake was amazing!). One special note about Giorgos, the owner: he came to our table and talked very nicely with my husband (I do not speak Greek yet so it is difficult for me), he was very kind and attentive. όπως είπε ο άνωθεν σχολιαστης που με αγενεια απαντήσατε στο σχόλιο του κρίμα που δεν παρατηρήστε και τις κριτικές με 5 αστέρια και πολύ καλά λόγια αλλά λογικό να είστε Ψεύτης στις απαντήσεις στα σχόλια όπως και στα προϊόντα που πουλάτε! ο σερβιτορος είπε αν έρθουν άλλη παρέα με περισσότερα άτομα και ο συζηγος μου απάντησε δηλαδή σαν να λέμε αν δεν βρέξει θα χιονησει! Αν σας είχε πει αυτά τα που λέτε στην απάντηση θα είχε γίνει θέμα στο μαγαζί και ξέρουμε καλά τις συμπεριφορες των επαρχίωτων σαν εσάς σε τέτοιες περιπτώσεις! τα σχόλια για την αγενεια σας δεν είναι και λίγα! το ρύζι σαν λάστιχο αυτοκινήτου γιατί εφόσον του το είπε πολύ ευγενικά ο συζηγος μου να μας ζητήσει τα ρέστα η να ΣΥΖΗΤΉΣΟΥΜΕ ο ιδιοκτήτης εφόσον σφαλαμε τόσο και τα προϊόντα σας ήταν τόσο καλά παραμονή εσκυψε το κεφάλι! το χοιρινό από το μεσημέρι δεν το σερβίρουν ούτε σε ΓΥΡΑΔΙΚΟ! αλλά δεν περίμεναμε κάτι λιγότερα πέραν του ΑΝΤΙΕΠΑΓΕΛΜΑΤΙΣΜΟΥ είδαμε πως απαντάτε και σε άλλα σχόλια!λυπητερο πραγματικά και το ψέμα σας και το σέρβις το μόνο που άξιζε είναι η μπριζόλα και το είπαμε ήμασταν ξεκάθαροι ΑΣ ΕΡΧΟΣΑΣΤΑΝ ΝΑ ΔΟΚΙΜΆΣΕΤΕ ΤΟ ΡΎΖΙ ΛΆΣΤΙΧΟ ΕΦΌΣΟΝ ΣΑΣ ΈΓΙΝΕ ΠΑΡΑΤΗΡΗΣΗ η μιπως φοβήθηκατε μην πάθετε δηλητήριαση. Σας τα αφήσαμε τα πιάτα γιατί είδαμε ότι σχολιάζετε και πόσο τρώνε οι πελάτες στα αρνητικά σας οπότε τους παρατήρητε καλά εμάς την δυσαρέσκεια μας την παρατήρησατε αλλά δεν είχατε τα μούτρα να έρθετε να αναλαβετε πάρα μόνο στείλατε το παιδί! τώρα να μιλήσουμε για επιχείρησεις στην Ελλάδα και Μπεσα και αλήθεια τα μισά ένσημα και τις μισές αποδείξεις όλη η εστίαση και θα μας κάνετε επιπληξη για τιμιοτητα! εμείς τα δηλώνουμε όλα οι υπόλοιποι! καλό είναι να περνετε ως μάθημα τις αρνητικές κριτικές και όχι να βγάζετε μενος και κακία..... ...
