Paradise Beach Restaurant | Agia Effimia — Restaurant in Sami Municipality

We visited the place with my family with two kids. We are frequent travelers - not only in Greece but worldwide. As Greeks though - when it comes to select a Greek tavern - we are not just impressed by a view or a fake smile as I have seen in the previous reviews for this tavern; we are really looking to the quality of the food and manners. Bottom line we ordered fish (barbouni which we were charged 65euro per kilo - a price that shall be paid in a high end restaurant). However the price was not the issue - although overpriced; the issue was that the fish was so spoiled and rotten, that we did not even eat it. We did not complained and we just asked to pay the bill and leave, when we were asked what is wrong; we dared to tell that the fish is so spoiled that is even dangerous to be eaten. “The waiter responded that although the fish might be bad; is still sellable!!!!!” So he did comity that the fish was bad and we told the waiter that an apology would be just appreciated .... the response from the waiter? “We don’t care and the foreigners do not notice the difference” When we told him, this is a wrong way to treat people and guests to our country and that we plan to post a review to protect the guests; he said: “we don’t care do whatever you want”..... So, dear guests.... the choice is yours and do not fool yourself with the veranda view to the sea.... think...

I'm conflicted about this restaurant. I really like the waiters, they were all very nice. The atmosphere is lovely as well as it is seaside with views of the mountains and oceans. However we only liked one of our dishes out of 3. If you come here I would recommend the fresh fish. They filet it right at your table. We ordered a one person portion and paid 35 euro. The fish was fresh and tasted nice with the lemon and olive oil sauce. However the shrimp saganaki was sadly the worst shrimp saganaki I've had in the 4 years I've been coming to the Greek islands (been to 10 diff islands). It tasted nothing like any of the saganaki I've had before (in a negative way). The shrimp was clearly frozen and not fresh. It tasted like a touristy non Greek version of shrimp saganaki. It didn't even have the right sauce or cheese! Very disappointing to be served this dish in Greece. Our third dish was just average as well. I've had...

Our worst experience in the town ! on a relatively quiet night Ive just experienced the worst service ever from a restaurant. NOT once were we asked if our meal was ok. The cod was tasteless, The roast potatoes greasy and under cooked and The roast veg were swimming in a bowl of oil all mushy and tasteless !.

Id definitely recommend you visit one of the many other great restaurants in the town where service is impeccable ! Try "Sea Rock" for great food super friendly Staff and great service or "The Local" where again we had impeccable service from friendly staff with great food. All this was pointed out at the end of the meal ..Not one apology, Just here is the bill ! PLEASE BE AWARE !!!
