Poseidon Restaurant — Restaurant in Sami Municipality

The restaurant was suggested to us by a local friend who was very pleased by the service and the food. Although, we were very disappointed to find out that nothing was as said. We ordered sea food and a salad. The food was expensive since potions were really small and the taste was just OK. If you haven't try sea food before in your life, maybe you would like it, but for us was just bellow average. We never felt welcomed since the staff looked somehow annoyed by everything. We were told not to feed the cats because that made the floor dirty, they were in a hurry to take our dishes away since "it was late" and the place was about to close and at some point they started swearing at each other, making us feel really uncomfortable. I cannot say enough about this place. We came here last year and I knew this was the first place I wanted to go when we arrived in Kefalonia this year. The food is incredible. We eat here almost every other day when we stay in Agia Efimia. The Poseidon salad is so good. My favourite is the gigantes beans. We’ve had tons of food here and nothing is bad. Akis is the best! The owner Themis is so kind and friendly. I feel so comfortable and welcome at this restaurant. We also have rented our car from them the past two years. They make everything super easy and are so flexible. Christos helps with the car transports and he is such a fun guy. I will miss this place and look forward to visiting...

The food was bad. I ordered fish. It was bland, tough and cooked from frozen. The owner said it was fresh but clearly that was a lie. The portions were tiny, attempting to make it look like fine dining with gimmicks like doodling with the sauce, but the quality of the food was awful. It actually made me ill that night. The waiters were loud and intrusive. A beggar was roaming around leaving notes on the tables asking for money because he was disabled (he seemed perfectly healthy, albeit a bit fat), and filthy cats were begging for food, trying to jump on the tables.
