The Local — Restaurant in Sami Municipality

Shame on the owner!!! We stopped here because our tour guide recommended it. Food was okay nothing special.

They put a basket of bread on the table that we didn't ask for, we were guessing that we have to pay for it, but none of us wanted it because we had quite big meals... So we covered it , so even the flies can get to it.. So time to pay, and I saw the owner counting the bill, so I mentioned that we didn't want the bread and didn't touch it either he said -No problem,I won't charge. Then I saw that he put 2€ on the bill , so I said -ohh I thought you were not gonna charge for the bread. Then he said yes I will!! My friend came up to pay too from the same table. And he charged her too 2€... It's not the €4 , it's the fact that he lied straight into my face with the huge smile on his face. Shame on you . I lived and worked on Greek islands and that's not how it should be.

Worst restaurant I have ever been to. P.s I would happily give a tip instead for the service than something I didn't...

Wow, what a lovely little place with nice service! The location is magical and the food both times we visited was outstanding! It was so good the first time, that we decided to come back just for dinner even though we stayed on the other side of the island and it took us more that 1 hour just to get there, but it was definitely worth it! The staff were lovely and the food was absolutely great, cooked to perfection and not overpriced. If you’re looking for a place with amazing local cuisine look no further, I ordered grilled halloumi cheese and chicken souvlaki and my boyfriend ordered a mix of grilled meat and they were absolutely delicious, he also said that at The Local he had the best carbonara he’s ever eaten. Definitely...

Very disappointing honestly.. I only seldom write bad reviews but this one stood with me.. The musaka and the greek salad were ok but the spaghetti with shrimps was probably the worst I ever had. We gave it back almost without touching it. I think if the owners cared a little they would either tell us not to pay it or at least do something about it like changing the plate or serving something else. Neither of those happened and we payed the full price. I don’t care about what I payed of course, it just made me feel how little they cared. I hope they get better in time! No...
