I prefer to eat mainly vegetarian food and I’m pretty hard to impress. I went on a coach trip and it stopped at the lovely fishing village. The bus driver directed us all to the restaurant next door but I looked at their menu and decided to look at the menu in the next restaurant as there seemed to be quite a few Greeks in there.

I ordered an eggplant, tomato, onion & garlic dish which I have to say was the best Eggplant dish I’ve had in my entire life!!! I eat eggplant at least 30 times a year so that’s a lot of eggplant! It had the consistency of a Tajine but the flavour was exquisite. Even the skin of the eggplant melted away in your mouth as it’s often quite tough.

I had a great pure greek traditional dinner with my partner at Steki taverna! Steki tavern is located at the Ag. Efthymia little port in Kefalonia island, Greece. The Steki tavern is a place that someone can eat as a local. The vegetables are all grown in Eftalia's garden, the owner of the taverna. Also, the lamp, the chicken and the beef that you can try here are from local bio farms. I highly recommend the lamp chops, the beef burger, the tzatziki, the fresh greek salad with Kefalonian feta cheese and the stuffed tomatoes and peppers with rice and herbs.
