A Hidden Gem in Glossa’s Port – Aramis Café, Bistro & Bar
Today, my family and I had the absolute pleasure of enjoying lunch at Aramis Café, Bistro & Bar, a delightful mother-and-daughter-run bistro nestled in the scenic port of Loutraki, Skopelos. From the moment we stepped in, we were welcomed with such warmth and hospitality—it truly felt like being invited into someone’s home.
The daily specials were nothing short of spectacular. The moussaka was rich and hearty, the kind of dish that comforts your soul. The meatballs were tender and perfectly seasoned, and my son’s shrimp spaghetti was light, fresh, and full of flavour. I had the most beautiful risotto rice balls – golden and crispy on the outside, creamy and delicate within.
And then there was the tzatziki – possibly the best I’ve ever tasted in my life – cool, garlicky, and smooth, paired with their homemade bread which was crusty on the outside, soft on the inside, and just perfect for dipping.
To drink, my son tried a sour cherry beverage that was refreshing, slightly tart, and absolutely delicious.
As we enjoyed our meal, even the local cat joined in on the fun—casually placing a paw on the table and cheekily helping itself to a prawn! It added to the charm of the afternoon and made us feel even more immersed in the relaxed, village port atmosphere.
We ended our visit by purchasing a stunning photographic book on the history of Skopelos—an unexpected but perfect souvenir.
Aramis is more than just a café—it’s a warm, soulful space filled with good food, family pride, and island spirit. We left with full bellies, big smiles, and memories we’ll treasure. We can’t...
Read moreTerrible customer service and scam of an establishment! Overpriced tourist trap. We ordered two vegetarian (Pericles) crepes and explicitly asked for no corn for them. We received two hercules crepes with pork and meat we could not consume, this crepe doesn’t even come with corn so the waiter should have known as we pointed to the menu when ordering. Cakes were okay but service was slow if you’re waiting for the ship it could take an hour to receive your food here.
They initially refused to take the two meat crepes back even though we didn’t eat or touch the crepes and were going to charge us for FOUR crepes, two of which we CANNOT eat. After explaining that we cannot consume pork they still proceeded to tell us “IT’S YOUR PROBEM YOU ARE MUSLIM” for the server’s mistake. Unbelievable. After speaking up they charged us for one crepe as both “vegetarian” crepes had corn (we asked for no corn for one). The cherry on top? We found CHICKEN in the VEGETARIAN CREPES, crepes were also very disappointing in taste, rather bland...
Read moreAlthough the staff was friendly and they had a nice gesture by offering us a local shot and a small ice cream treat, the overall experience was disappointing. Prices are extremely high for what you get: we paid €18.75 for a dish that was basically just French fries, presented as something traditional but clearly aimed at tourists. Since it wasn’t on the menu, they charged whatever they wanted, which felt quite unfair. The meat and fish were decent in taste, but the portions were very small. The mojito was also tiny and overpriced. Compared to other restaurants on the island, this one stands out—in a bad way—because of its poor value for money. They should reconsider their pricing policy and improve their offer to align with the authentic and welcoming spirit that Skopelos...
