I'd like to begin by expressing how much I've enjoyed my time in Skopelos thus far. The experiences I've had and the people I've met have been overwhelmingly positive, with one notable exception that I feel compelled to share. Unfortunately, I encountered a deeply unpleasant incident during my visit, which I can only describe as one of the most disheartening encounters with racism I've ever experienced.

My wife and I were simply looking to enjoy a peaceful afternoon with a cup of coffee and some ice cream. However, the moment we stepped into the establishment, it was evident that something was amiss. The waiter who approached our table seemed inexplicably irritated with me, despite having done nothing to warrant such a reaction. Throughout the entire ordeal, he made no effort to hide his disdain, contorting his face with displeasure as I placed our order.

As if that wasn't uncomfortable enough, when it became apparent that he hadn't properly understood my order, I decided to visit the ice cream counter to peruse the available flavors and options. Instead of receiving assistance or even a modicum of politeness, the waiter shouted at me, instructing me to return to my seat. I couldn't help but observe his interactions with other customers, which made the discrimination even more apparent. With the white clientele, he was all smiles and displayed a genuine warmth and hospitality that he had blatantly denied us.

We ordered two burgers, the worst of our lives. The meat is dry, overcooked and potentially not even meat (definitely did not taste like it!). The “bacon” is not bacon, but some cheap alternative. The top of the bread bun was stale and hard. Since this was the same for both burgers, we’re convinced this is actually how they do it. When asked how it was, we told the waiter we didn’t like it and he just looked at us and left. Breaks my heart to leave a one star review but spending your money on terrible food should not happen. We got a burger thinking they really can’t mess that up. Eventually went somewhere else to eat...

This is a fantastic spot for any meal, whether it's breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner—they have it all covered. It's one of the rare gems in Skopelos where you can enjoy both excellent food and good cocktails under the same roof. I had a Bloody Mary, which is my second favorite cocktail, and it was quite decent. The staff is incredibly friendly and engaging, often sparking up conversations and making everyone feel welcome.
