We preferred to have our dinner away from touristic restaurants by the coast. It is a small Greek family run business in a small garden. We really loved the real Greek style cuisine and hospitality(beef with pasta, shrimps with tomato sauce, greek salad, red pepper with feta cheese=€35, free dessert from the house) the taste for all food was amazing, service was so sweetly nice 🇬🇷🥰portions are big and satisfying, prices are moderate. Serving staff was so kind always smiling, informative in English for dishes you’ve no idea about. They’ve a special menu everyday with a variety of choices and they cross out the sold-out dishes on the list, which means everything is fresh and made daily. We loved there all in all and would visit again&again this sweet family’s local restaurant. It also makes me very happy to contribute to the real local businesses of the island rather than visiting just touristic places. If you are looking for an alternative and Greek style very local restaurant with nice Greek music, away from posh things, try this restaurant you will not regret. We wanted to try the local cuisine and, considering the reviews, we took the trouble and walked down to this tavern. There were about 10 guests maximum on the terrace, about to finish their meals, so we considered us lucky; we picked a table and upon sitting down, the waiter approached us and advised that the kitchen is closed, that they cook some meals every day and then they sell them, there were left only 2 helps already plated and there is a fish leftover that can be grilled and that was the whole offer. We thanked for their candor and walked away. As we did not eat there, and we are sorry for it considering the praises in the reviews, I cannot say about food or table service. However, this is a warning for people looking for a place for dinner: it is only by chance and you should weigh if it worths to try your luck. From other reviews, I did not have the chance to understand this, and to have been useful to know beforehand; maybe for others is useful too. Went here based on the great reviews here and on TripAdvisor. Honestly, I don't understand why this place is in top 10 in Thassos. Our family ate there 2 days in a row. In the first we had stuffed calamari and beef stifado. They were really.good. The second we had shrimps pasta and lamb chops. We don'trecommend them. But not this bothered me so much. In the first night, we had starters and there were some extremely tasty and tender olives. We requested to buy 2 kilos for home. My bad is that I didn't taste them before leaving. Back at home, in Romania, I realized olives are extremely salted and rancid. I haven't tasted olives that bad in my entire life...otherwise they were very polite and friendly, but I think the food and the quality of products matter much more!!!
